The American Heritage of Vacheron Constantin
The American Heritage of Vacheron Constantin is an interactive online event marking the intersection of the American narrative and the company's unbroken 256-year history with the rich stories of the brand’s American collectors. The project is a precursor to the official grand opening of Vacheron Constantin's first-ever U.S. boutique, located at 729 Madison Avenue in New York City. The American Heritage of Vacheron Constantin will showcase untold stories of the manufacture’s nearly 180-year relationship with America. Vacheron Constantin officially arrived on U.S. shores in 1832. The company's historical stories will be told through an interactive timeline. The narrative will include famous Vacheron Constantin owners from the United States including Henry Graves, James Packard, Julie Ward Howe, and many others. In addition to fascinating accounts pulled straight from the Vacheron Constantin archives in Geneva, U.S.-based collectors and enthusiasts are invited to contribute pe
Pre-Baselworld 2014: Introducing The Hublot Big Bang Unico Bi-Retrograde Chrono, The Official Watch
In the 1970s there were special chronographs called "Soccer Timers" with markings on the registers for counting the 45 minute halves of a match. Hublot has taken things much further here with the Big Bang Unico Bi-Retrograde Chrono, building a mechanism from the ground up that is optimized for this function. The two retrograde hands clock the seconds and minutes on a specially designed scale and a window at the center of the dial shows which half is being timed. The main timekeeping is separated in a smaller dial at 6 o'clock, so you can wear the watch off the pitch.??The foundation of the?Big Bang Unico Bi-Retrograde Chrono is the new in-house movement. The caliber HUB1260 was built using the same dual-coupling column-wheel technology as the UNICO caliber, but with the marked difference of having two center-mounted retrograde hands for the chronograph mechanism. This 385-part movement is the first bi-retrograde caliber from Hublot and is patent-pending. 2 OF 3 You're pro
How can I not feel bored with my GMT LN after seeing the new pepsi?
The LN is my only watch and worn every day, purchased new a few months ago. I like the watch and the GMT function but I sometimes feel the appearance is a little dull and too corporate. Now compared to the new pepsi, despite the ceramic colors more closely resembling fruit flavored candy rather than a traditional bezel, seems so much more exciting to me. If the choice was given to me I would definitely have chosen the pepsi despite its colors lacking the greatness of the pre-ceramic models. Maybe my real problem is that there is such a lack of variation in a collection of just one watch despite me being such a watch enthusiast?
Got to try this
So went in to AD to pick up the green tag that I forgot at the store the other day.The hulk and SD43 was gone!So I inquired about SS Daytona, out of curiosity. Specially I got so many PMs. The manager gave some good info and after sometime he said he has one in the safe. I was really excited and he comes out with a white dial SS Daytona. Really nice time piece, I liked the white and black combination. But its not for me.He said they usually don't even show it to customers. They show it to selected few and sell to even fewer ones!! I could get it, but I love my TT more.He said 95% of the times its the hype for the watch that results in huge demand. Everyone wants to buy and flip it. Very few people actually want it for what it is. To avoid flipping, they sell to selected few customers. Interesting AD, and interesting stories!Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using Tapatalk
Dial size versus watch case size
I tried to look this up from past posts but didn't find an answer is it true that the dial size of the DD2 and the dial size of the DD40 Are actually the same exact size?In other words interchangeable with each other's cases? So the 39 mm Rolex DD masterpieces are probably the same size dial as the 36Day date but just with the 39 mm case?
