ORIS Watches at The Reno Air Show 2013
ORIS Air Racing III Limited Edition Watch for 2013While I am a huge fan of pilot watches, and certainly of flying as an efficient and economical form of transportation, when ORIS invited me to attend the Reno Air Races in Nevada, I had a small pause due to a terrible accident there a few years ago and also the fact that Breitling has been historically such a huge sponsor of this event. Oris also produced a Reno Air Racing Limited Edition III watch for the 2013 event.However, after looking into the safety measures taken since and most importantly learning a bit about the brand via the Internet, my decision was clear. This could be fun, and give me an opportunity to learn more about the brand, as a few times ORIS has come up in comments on this site especially when I reviewed diving watches such as the?Sinn U1. Looks like the dreaded price increases did not affect the standard mainline watches; i.e., stainless Speedmasters and Seamasters.As for the newer pieces, he has four of the LE Bond watches in stock. I am so old that the only Bond for me is Sean Connery and he wore a Rolex but having seen the LE Bond in the steel, I must say that I am impressed.For those of us interested in the First Omega in Space (I call it the Schirra Speedy), he has no news as to when it might arrive. The official word remains September. The order list is growing but I'm still #1.Fr. John?

My first Patek. Aquanaut 5167. What a wonderful and comfy watch! It is a ding magnet though! I'd call it a ghost watch as you can barely feel it on your wrist. My first Patek, but I don't think it will be my last.

Was 43mm SD red updated in 2018? And compares to updated 44mm DSSD ..
Question, I found myself looking at 43mm SD red vs the updated 44mm DSSD.I tried on the DSSD before but bracelet was my complain.But I have not tried on the 43mm red SD yet.I do wonder if the 43mm red SD was updated this year? And the new 44mm DSSD looks like it resolved my complain about the bracelet.I guess I would have to wait until the new 44mm DSSD is out to confirm. What do you guys think about the 43mm red SD vs the new 44mm DSSD as in portion on the wrist, wear comfort?
