Lm-Tec V6 Review
Lm-Tec is a brand we've been following since we first started w&w. Their mix of bold design, moderate prices and focus on listening to their customer’s desires (they are very active on forums, regularly taking comments and criticism from members regarding design) makes them a unique brand. In their ever growing line of mechanical and quartz watches you wont find any direct clones of larger luxury brands, but rather a refreshing array of distinct designs that takes hints from here and there. Previously, we've reviewed their M33 chronograph, a phantom style quartz that is solid as a rock, and two of their higher end mechanical watches, the Combat B16 and Super B2, both of which left a lasting impression. Now, we are taking a look at one of their newest watches, the V6.Case:? Technical Perspective: Stopping The Whirlwind: Four Tourbillons With Stop Seconds, And Why That Matters
One of the single most important features of watches intended to keep very accurate time is the presence of a stop seconds function. The single most important purpose of the tourbillon – as Breguet originally conceived it, certainly – is to make a watch more accurate. You would think therefore, in a rational universe, that you would see the tourbillon and a stop seconds function paired frequently, if not invariably . . . but you'd be wrong.First of all, let's talk tourbillon. The basic idea behind the tourbillon is pretty simple: it's a solution to a really old problem in watchmaking, which is that a watch will run very slightly faster, or slower, depending on what position it's in. This is mostly due to how gravity pulls on the balance and balance spring in different positions. For example, think of the balance, which has at its center the balance staff (a very, very thin steel pivot). The tips of the balance staff sit inside the holes of two jewels, and wh
15202 sizing
I have an offshore on hornback that I keep considering trading to something less substantial like an aquanaut or 15202. My wrist is on the smaller side, but the hornback works ok since it is flexible. I tried on the 15202 and despite it being much smaller, fit more awkwardly due to the stiff bracelet. It doesn't really hug the wrist but kind of sits raised if that makes any sense. Obviously could not size it to try it on properly, but does the 15202 actually need a thicker wrist to wear due to the bracelet than the offshore?
Size comparison help
For all who have knowledge for these references, can anyone give me a size reference? Say compared to a DD40...lug to lug, width , etc..... thanks all539652055146And do the lighter colored dials help with size perception ?
First Watch - Tudor BBN In-House
Hi All! Due to changing out from another hobby and some very enthusiastic friends, I've been lurking for the last 2 months to get into watches. Tried to start conservative with a max budget of $500, then $800, then $1000, then $1500 -- the more I read, the worse it got! After trying on several Seikos at a local department store to get a feel for size and style, and I realized I would be unhappy going through starter watches and having to upgrade. Thanks all for the great forum and load of information. Already considering my 2nd watch need and looking forward to when I'm ready to pull the trigger on a Rolex! In case a newcomer like me can help anyone, that's a Corsair MM300 extended mouse pad (36 wide x 12 tall) in the pic. I've been using that product for quite a while and can already tell it will serve perfectly to help desk diving scratches.
