Watches NEWS
GIVEAWAY: Delma Santiago Blue Shark
Swiss Delma watches aren't known too well outside of Europe. They produce attractive, mid-range mechanical and quartz watches that include fun mechanical dive watches like the Santiago Blue Shark. A predominance of orange (versus blue) on the dial might have you take issue with the name, but it is nevertheless a diver to be reckoned with. At 47mm wide, the Santiago Blue Shark isn't a watch for lightweights. The all-steel case is water resistant to a depth of 3,000 meters.? The steel bezel comes in brushed steel or PVD black, and the crystal is sapphire. This deep diver contains a Swiss ETA 2824-2 automatic movement and retails for $2,196. Hands-On: With The Piaget Altiplano Skeleton in White Gold: Live Pics + Official Pricing
Ask most guys under the age of 50 if they'd wear a skeleton watch, and they'd say "No f'n way."? The reason for that is, up until recently, most were relegated to regal, almost faux opulent designs that were just a little too ornate, a little too "blingy" in the most upper eastside-y / Purdy sort of way.?Then came the Openworked Royal Oak (ref 15305) from AP and the Altiplano Skeleton from Piaget, which we showed you first here.? These two watches are the best examples of the new type of skeletonized watches - the types of openworking that is less dandy / ornate and more manly / industrial.? At SIHH and while visiting Piaget with our contest winner, we got a chance to go hands-on with this awesome new skeletonitzed Altiplano.Sized at 38mm in a case of white gold (ugh, how nice does that combination of size and metal sound?), this is actually the thinnest skeletonized caliber (Piaget 1200S) inside the world's thinnest skeletonized watch, and it took over three years to develop.? What Pi

Are Pateks collectible?
Are Pateks collectible in general? Or are there certain models that you look out for? The reason I ask is that I was looking through Henry Grave's auction through Sotheby and he has watches that he bought for $40K which are valued at $200K...is this a general theme for most PPs?Say - the Nautilus. In 20 years, will it command a high price?Just wondering. Thanks!
