Hands-On: With The Breguet Classique Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar Ref. 3797
It was June 26, 1801 that Abraham-Louis Breguet patented the tourbillon, meaning yesterday was the legendary complication's 213th anniversary. Breguet celebrated Tourbillon Day in New York City with an exhibition of tourbillon wristwatches at their 5th Avenue boutique, giving us a perfect excuse to go hands-on with one of the manufacture's most impressive modern complications, the ref. 3797 Classique Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar. Not only is there a massive tourbillon counting the seconds at 6 o'clock, but also a full perpetual calendar with leap year indicator and a retrograde date up top. This is a watch that shows off the very best of where Breguet comes from and what they can do today. 2 OF 6 Just looking at the ref. 3797, it's obvious you have a very complicated watch on your hands. Which 5396 looks better?
I was considering to go with 5146G cream dial when the AD showed me several 5396 series.a) 5396G-001 white baton b) 5396G-014 slate breguet numbers c) 5396R-014 rose gold with blue dialI haven't seen 5396R-014 rose gold with blue dial yet. I like breguet numbers but white version looks cleaner.Curious to know what others think - out of the above three, which version is good and which is no-no?Searched the forum but haven't seen much discussion on 5396R-014.
New Pepsi Really a Raspberry
I have not handled one, but I have seen tons of pictures side by side.I dont like the blue which is purplish, nor the red which is pinkish. The bezel looks like a raspberry and does not deserve to be called the Pepsi. I will not be a taker of this watch until Rolex gets the colors right.
Is there any way of purchasing individual oyster links
This is for the GMT, so polished center links. A couple of the screws in my links are slightly damaged although not enough to effect the functioning of the watch, is there any way to buy official replacement links (or at least screws)? Also, are the screws usually replaced during a Rolex service?
