Finally got to try out the new PO's!
I swung by the Omega boutique in the area and had the chance to inspect and try on the new PO Cal 8500 42mm and the new PO Chrono 45mm. And for fun of course I had to give the Ploprof another try! :-)The PO 42mm was just a pleasure strap on. The size is very compelling for an everyday piece. The matte dial, sharp hands and new LQM bezel melts together very nicely. It feels very solid and high quality. My only nag was the lug width could be another mm or two, especially when you try it on the rubber strap (ever excellent one btw) it just appears a bit under-dimensioned and not in proportion. Overall, it is a very nice piece but it does scream Buy me!, at least in my book.Next up was the PO Chrono 45mm with the new Calibre 9300. It actually felt rather good on the wrist size-wise (I was wearing a SD 16600 for the last week). The design and look is just very attractive and it oozes quality. But the +19mm thickness is just a deal killer for me. It looks redonkelous when you view it in prof

Don't you just hate incomings...
When you're not home to receive it?? Sadly I've got something shipping today for tomorrow. While I'd normally have it shipped to wherever I'm traveling, it's one of those crazy travel weeks consisting of 4 cities so I'd rather not risk it. Now I've got to wait until Friday! Yes, I could have waited to post but where's the fun in that?

Rolex journey to SD43.
My Rolex journey began when I was a young 21 year old cop posted to a punishment duty of a gaoler for turning up late the previous early shift. I was wearing my obligatory G shock watch, magnum boots & ironed blue shirt when I noticed an old boy detective in his thirties wearing Levi's, tee shirt & a cool watch. I started talking to him whilst carrying out the punishment shift of mopping the cells, making numerous hot drinks in styrofoam cups for the waking prisoners and microwaved breakfasts. I asked The old boy about his watch & he gave me a history about Rolex submariners & how he got his. I immediately decided I wanted one. The next 18 months I worked every overtime opportunity & each month paid it to my local AD. It cost ��2160 (I think) & eventually I had worked for & owned my first sub. Then I fell in love, bought a house & under duress sold the watch to pay the stamp duty tax.History repeated itself & I worked overtime & a few years later
