Victorinox Redesigns the AirBoss
On an aircraft carrier, the air boss is the officer who decides every takeoff and landing. For 2011, the new Victorinox AirBoss is simpler in its design, and slightly smaller at 42mm. The look three hands, three circles of digit tracks, and a date window at 6 o'clock emphasizes precision, readability and functionality. Find pricing and wallpaper inside. Victorinox says the AirBoss is a classic example of second-glance timepiece design. The first glance tells you “pilot-inspired look”. The second glance catches details like the beveled two-surface inner bezel, the raised arabics with luminous inside skeletonized metal frames, and the tiny, circular, diamond-cut grooves in the dial that tell you someone paid careful attention here. My precious: Chronostop Genve ST 146.012/Cal 920. This Omega Chronostop is from 1969 (birth year), 41mm, and made for Italian market only. I got this one on my honeymoon trip to Vienna in 2005. I was there again recently and tried to find the shop (it was located close to the Opera) but unfortunately Time Fair is not on the market anymore. This Omega will never leave my collection. Got the Sub-C! Interesting bracelet & clasp adjustment
Hey folks,I have a separate thread about my new Sub-C that just landed today. I am pretty stoked about it in genereal. One thing I had not anticipated is how long it is taking me to get the bracelet links and glide lock clasp set up perfectly. I have a forum friend with basically the same size wrist (we owned the same watch with no adjustment needed) and he told me his Sub-C was set up with 4 links on the 6:00 side and 5 links on the 12:00 side. So this is what I did and it was not quite right. So then I went to 3.5 on the 6:00 side. Still not right. Down to 3 on the 6:00 side. Much better and allowed the clasp to center with some room to wiggle on either side of the adjustment area. After wearing it like this for a few hours, it was too short on the 6:00 side, so I took one link from the other side and swapped it over, for an even 4 links on each side. This seems to be the perfect setup for my wrist. I can get a more comfortable fit on this bracelet than previous Rolex bracelet
