What Is SIHH? A Major Watch Industry Show & What It Means
With all of the timepiece coverage flooding in from our trip to Geneva, Switzerland in January, I thought it might be a good idea to slow down for a moment and give you all some context pertaining to the whos, whats, whys, hows, and wheres of SIHH. Who puts on this show, why is it put on, how is it executed, and where are the attendees coming from? In short, what is SIHH?As a first-time attendee, I am going to give you my overall impressions and analysis of the event, while I attempt to explain the goings-on of this annual affair from an insider's perspective. There is much more to this showcase of luxury timepieces than just the watches, and while my opinions and experiences are mine alone, I hope they will shed some light on the inner workings of the luxury timepiece industry.SIHH stands for the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie, and can briefly be summarized as an invite-only trade show put on by The Richemont Group in collaboration with a few independent luxury brands, whi

I know one is a chronograph, however they are near each other in price. I want a RO as my next piece but I don't want to settle for the 15400. Anyone's opinion and why would be appreciated.
Rolex overpriced?
I got the Rolex bug and bought a Milgauss but now I'm having third thoughts. For the price of the Milgauss I can get a couple of nice Omegas to supplement my Seamaster and Speedmaster. I love my new Milgauss gv, but what's really getting me hung up is the cost. Visibility of the green dial is another issue, but it's beautiful in good light.Did you ever have buyers regret and get over it? Do some of you own Rolex and omega too?
Hear my train a comin'...
Greetings TRF,I was on my way to University last Thursday and I thought I could try to take some pictures of my Seamaster Pro while I was in the train. I got the idea when I noticed the reflection of my watch in the window looked quite good and would probably make a good picture. Of course if anybody has similar pictures feel free to post them! I thought this would be different if you compare it to those classic (although very nice) watches and cars threads!Photo0088.jpgPhoto0099.jpgPhoto0089.jpgPhoto0090.jpgOf course there's nothing like listening to some Jimi Hendrix while you're on the rails!Photo0096.jpgAnother reflexion picture in the tunnel.Photo0101.jpgSince my watch got exposed to sunlight the markers and hands got very bright so I thought I'd try to block the lights and get some pictures!Photo0102.jpgPhoto0103.jpgSorry about the bad quality of some pictures but I took them with my phone. Feel free to comment!
5980r not winding???
Hi guys,Hopefully this is not another is it safe question 😅.I was setting my 5980, and after finished, changed the crown position to winding, but it felt loose. Like really really loose, no grinding noise like you would normally have when winding. The crown was also returning the other direction when I'm wounding it. (Like a spring like effect)Is this normal??? Should i just keep winding until i hear the grinding sound? Or is this a problem?
