Breitling v Rolex?
Alright, we all know that Rolex and Breitling both produce great watches that are respected by aviators. Most of the big jet captains I meet as part of my career wear either (with most tending to sport GMTs)..rolexforums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gifHow do you think Breitling and Rolex compete at every level? Breitling seems to be sold everywhere and are not as exclusive, which to me cheapens the brand. In addition, their product line is all over the map, like TAG.Your thoughts?
Vintage repair recommendations...
Would appreciate recommendations/experience with an Omega vintage specialist in the US. Thanks much!
Question Regarding Speedy 3321.80
Hey guys,I'm being offered a Speedy Day Date with a blue dial and gold bezel with a two tone strap. It's from the late 90's. Personally, I think it looks pretty good. Always wanted a blue faced watch ever since I gave my smp to my brother in law.Anyway, I just wanted to ask those of you who know about speedy day dates about the case diameter. I'm getting conflicting reports, officially they're said to have a 37mm diameter, which I think is really small. Others are saying they're 39mm, which would be like my Breguet Type XX, which is fine. So, which is it really?Been trying to look all over but I can't seem to find many records online about this model. So, if any of you have any info about it, it'd be greatly appreciated.Hoping you guys could help me out.regards, lorsban
Has this ever happened to you?
Short version. Rolex only guy for many, many years. Discovered Panerai. Started with the 88 then sold it for the 422. Could not get the Rolex GMT2C out of my head though so picked one up BNIB last week as a second watch and have been wearing it since while my 422 sits in a drawer. The GMT2C is beautiful to be sure, love the bezel and the polished links, but I get this feeling that it just lacks something the 422 has in terms of making me smile when I look at it. For one, it now seems smaller than it really is. Second, I think that Panerai are so different and so unique that there is just something special about them. Hard to put into words, really. A presence, I suppose, at the risk of sounding too dramatic.Slapping on the 422 tonight (after bringing it back to life) and will use the GMT2C for golf, fishing, swimming, beach, and hot humid outdoors activities as well as to change things up a bit from time to time. The boring old manual wind, three hand, no date 422 just brings me more j
EXPII or DJII (white)
I'm looking to buy a one and only Rolex. I'm not the type to switch out watches or have a rotation. I wear one watch and wear it 24/7. It never comes off no matter the activity. Like the title says im looking at the Polar 216570 or the white dial 116300. Date is the most important which they both have, GMT function is nice but not a deal breaker. I have a 7 wrist. In the past I have had a black expii, GMTii, and currently a SD4k. But none of them have been THE watch for me and have all ended up being flipped. The SD4k will also be flipped for this next watch that I hope to keep forever . Any insight would be great. Thanks
