Hands-On: The Greubel Forsey Signature 1, A Top-Tier Time-Only (Live Photos, Thoughts, Availability & Pricing)
At SIHH 2015, Greubel Forsey shocked us all by making a thin(ner), small(er), less expensive tourbillon called the Tourbillon 24 Seconds Vision. Now when you're talking about Greubel – arguably within top three finest watchmakers in the world – and potentially top one watchmaker in the world for median price per watch – everything is relative. By thin, I mean the 24 seconds is around 13.5 mm with a 16 mm bubble; by small, I mean it is 43.5 mm in diameter; and by inexpensive, I mean just over $300,000. But again, for a company that does not relent when it comes to quality, that was a great step towards a watch that was (more) wearable and affordable than previous offerings. New Moonwatch box
Hi everyone,I always wanted to buy a Moonwatch, so the other day I went to my local AD to try one on. They had this new (big) box and honestly, this is magnificent. It comes with one of the best NATO strap I have ever seen. Now I want it even more.I wanted to know if one of you guys own this package?
Seeking technical knowledge
Wanted to see if there was some technical knowledge that I could pickup regarding my 5711 that is in for service.I sent it to Patek because it would no longer wind via the winding stem. The watch still ran and kept time when worn and wound by the rotor. The estimate came back and said that in addition to the service I also needed a reduction wheel and a balance bridge.A search does not reveal much.Does anyone know what these parts do and are there any images to show where they are in the movement? Thanks for any help.
Do you only buy/prefer the same Rolex model?
I've seen many Rolex aficionados that only buy or simply prefer the same model, might have different variations or upgrades. I don't think there is anything wrong with that, I'm just curious. What is the primary reason you only purchase or prefer a certain model?
