3 New Omega Seamaster and Speedmaster Watches
As in recent years, Omega introduced? new watches in its Seamaster, Speedmaster and Constellation collections at last year’s Baselworld. Here is what you need to know about them. The new Omega Speedmaster Mark II is based on a model released in 1969, the same year that astronauts wore Omega Speedmaster Professional watches on the surface of the moon, forever earning that model the nickname “Moonwatch.” The original Speedmaster Mark II contained the same hand-wound mechanical caliber that powered the Moonwatch, Omega’s Caliber 861. The modern version has been updated, with an automatic movement (Omega’s co-axial Caliber 3330, with silicon balance spring and column-wheel chronograph mechanism) and a cleverly executed tachymeter scale that glows in the dark. The barrel-shaped case has brushed and polished finishes; the crown and chronograph pushers are polished. The tricompax dial features subdials at 3 o’clock (30-minute counter), 6 o’clock (12-ho
Sotheby's Hong Kong Announces Highlights From The Upcoming October Sale With A Rare Vintage Pate
Sotheby's Hong Kong has just announced the highlights from their upcoming sale on October 6th. The sale will consist of 420 lots with an estimate exceeding 86 million HKD ($11 million US). The sale consists of a range of pieces from all the major watch brands with a spattering of jeweled pieces, modern wristwatches, and vintage pieces. BUT the most exciting part of the sale is the vintage Patek Philippe Reference 2523 World-Time with dual-crown. 1 OF 2 Leading the pack is an incredibly cool Patek Philippe Reference 2523/1 Yellow Gold World Time Wristwatch with 24-hour indication and double crown, made in 1968 with an estimate of 4 to 5.5 million HKD ( $510,000 to $710,000 US). The reference 2523 was an extension of Louis Cottier's famous world-time design (invented in 1931) but with a new two-crown design that was launched in 1953. This example, a 2523-1, features a guilloché dial that is part of a limited production of 20. This watch is fresh to the market
Any of you Patek owners vintage Rolex collectors also?
I was all ready to pull the trigger on my first Patek this week. Well the offer fell through and a friend of mine said I really need to give vintage Rolex a try. He says, New watches are cold and lifeless. I said if my Patek deal feel through, I'd give it a shot. Well, deal fell through and I half committed to a vintage Rolex (1675). (based on condition, paperwork, etc, but it is apparently very top condition - not rare however).Well, now the Patek deal is back on the table as previous buyer backed out (briefly I'm sure). So, any Patek fans here also vintage Rolex guys? I have a 16610 and a 116610lv. Should I go entry Patek first or mid-tier vintage Rolex. If I go Patek, I have to back out of my Rolex agreement, but I it would not be end of the world.

Should I buy now or later?
Hi, I am new to this forum, and I hope to slowly learn more about Rolex from you.I am thinking of buying a Datejust 6917 from a reputable store that specializes in selling used watches for my wife as our fifth wedding anniversary present. The reason why I am thinking about this is because Rolex seems to be her dream watch, and this model looks like something that she likes and the price is much more within my budget compare to most other models. The catch is that my fifth wedding anniversary is still 1.5 years away. I originally think that I should try to save up as much I could during this time before making the purchase. But would you recommend me to try to make the purchase ASAP in case the price of the watch will go up if I wait for another year? Also, I understand the longer I wait, the higher will there be a chance where that models will be sold out in the shop.Any advise would be appreciated. Thank you very much.
