Gerald Genta Arena Metasonic Sonnerie Watch - $900,000
Whoa there Gerald Genta (and I speak to the company, not the man - as he isn't part of the brand any more). What is going on here? Where did this come from? Last thing I expected from you was a highly sophisticated sonnerie watch. You say that you have been doing this for a while (making sonnerie watches), but the last one that you released was in the mid 1990s? I am confused. Well forget all that, the watch is really cool. Looking at it, I can tell that the watch is Gerald Genta in form, but really dark in feel. Looks like something that H.R. Giger would wear. He is the artist that designed the aliens, from the Alien movie series. This is because the watch combines a sense of machinery with the biometric forms that the artist is know for. I suppose Gerald Genta is also known for that. Did you know that H.R. Giger is also Swiss?Anyhow, the watch is meant to be the most complex Grande Sonnerie watch in the world. This is not to be confused with the most complex watch in the world - the
It is a known fact that Versace is one of the most expensive watch brands
It is a known fact that Versace is one of the most expensive watch brands around. Versace is popular not only to watch aficionados. Even people who do not give much attention to watches know the brand or, at the very least, have heard of it. Seeing that Versace watches are famous for their sophisticated designs and excellent watch technology, there is no doubt why they are priced dearly.
Ceramic Diver pic request + other questions
I am in the market for a used Ceramic Diver and previously posted a question about the relative comfort of the Ceramic vs SS Diver. I owned a SS Diver an liked it a lot but never loved it, however I am convinced I will love the Ceramic version It would really be helpful to see some side-by-side pics of the Ceramic and SS Divers, on or off the wrist. Can anyone help me by posting some?A few other questions. Is it true that the Ceramic Diver was only sold through AP boutiques and not ADs?Will the ROO Rubberclad tapered strap and buckle fit the Diver case and plots?I know there is no right answer to this but ... does anyone think a Diver is too much watch or too out of place as a daily watch in a business casual (i.e. no suit) environment? I love the watch but sometimes wonder if wearing a hulking block of SS or Ceramic that is designed for deep ocean exploration day to day at a desk and around the house is a bit of a poseur move.like driving a Zonda in downtown London (although I wish I
Boom...Boom... Moon
Finally, I grew a pair and decided to do this.
My first ....
Hi guys.I thought I'd make my first post. I've been reading your posts for a long time so it's only fair that I make my own contribution. I have always admired Rolex watches since my dad gave me his SS date just about 25 years ago. So I decided a few months back to buy myself one, a bit indulgent but I think I deserved it! Others might disagree but hey ..... who gives what others think anyway?? I explored the collection, considered the sky dweller but found it too big on my wrist. I liked the Daytona but something didn't quite feel right. Ultimately I decided on this one (I hope the pic upload works.....). At the risk of sounding like a douchebag, or as a tosser as we Aussies would say, I'm in love with this thing! I'm sure you guys know what I mean. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
