Whether you buy watches from brick and mortar retailers or prefer to buy watches online, these are the stores that help shape our watch culture around the globe. There is a long list of stores to cover, but if there is a retail location in your favorite city that we simply can't miss, let us know in the comments below.Where to buy watches in Newport, Rhode Island?Back in 1992, while Ray Grenon was in college, he worked for a store called "The Best of Times" in Rochester, NY. They had a case of watches that were $9.99, a case of watches that were $19.99 and so on. Lots of Timex products and Swatch. Their high end was Seiko LaSalle, Bulova and Citizen. Ray reports that it was a fantastic experience which started him on his journey which resulted in opening Grenon's o
Montblanc Collection Villeret 1858 ExoTourbillon Chronographe Watch
The last shows of Montblanc I want to write on belongs to the same Collection Villeret 1858 ultra-luxe as the superb chronograph Vintage. Presented last month at the SIHH 2010, the Montblanc ExoTourbillon Chronograph Watch show new offer that Montblanc own take on the complication of well-known tourbillon escapement. First AP - Royal Oak 15300
Hey guys, I haven't posted much in the AP sub forum, but have read your posts as I was considering my first AP. I went to my AD and tried on the 15400, but it just didn't feel right - I think it felt a little bigger than what I had hoped for. However, I was able to track down a pre-owned 15300, and the size feels much better. The thickness of the bracelet and heft is taking some time to get used to, as my other sports watches are a pp 5711 and 5167, but the white/silver dial really compliments my predominantly dark dial watch collection. Anyway, if anyone else didn't find the 15400 to be a good fit, I recommend you give the 15300 a try!
Omega Constellation 'rattle'
I have a recently acquired 1950s Omega Constellation with 501 movement.I took it along to a specialist to check it was all genuine & get an insurance valuation. That was all good, which was pleasing. The guy in the shop noticed the rattle & said the rotor sounded loose, which would be fixed by a service. I had been finding the rattle pretty annoying (think ring-pull in a Coke can & you'd be in the ball park).Off it goes & three weeks later I go in to pick it up. Exact same rattle. I realise some rotor noise is to be expected, but the guy in the shop thought it was excessive & they've handled many of that type of watch over the years. The shop agree to send it off again. So, what do we think are the chances of it coming back better this time?
Agree
Evening all,I saw a thread on here not long ago entitled 'Patek owners - what do you do for a living ?'Basically to see if there is a similarity in your occupation.User Jon_Jon said a better question would be 'how many people have inherited their wealth vs. how many are self-made, to purchase a PP'So I ask, which are you? If you are self-made, what do you do for a living?Personally, My father took over his company 2 years ago, it's a very consistent company, maintaining a high profit. He gave me the capital I needed to start my own company in the defence industry, to which my company began to grow and grow. I paid him back within a year and bought myself a GC 5970G. What about you?
