A Look At Cartier's New Maison de Mtiers dArts In La Chaux-de-Fonds
If, somewhere out there, there is a harmonious valley in which watch-lovers can meditate, if there is a monastery in which they can discover inner peace – then Cartier’s new Maison de Métiers d’Arts in La Chaux-de-Fonds is likely to be that Shangri-La. It’s a place where one can admire and concentrate on the meticulous effort that makes the dials of haute horology.Cartier has transformed an old barn into a state-of-the-art watchmaking facility, showroom and greeting space for guests. In doing so, they’ve fulfilled the manufacture’s goal of providing a space that blends the company’s rich history with its current innovative watchmaking techniques. 2 OF 15 The ground floor sets the mood in blending the old and the new. It’s a fusion of 18th century limestone, wood, and period furniture that provides a conversational environment for visitors. Old incoming thread C weekend shots
Hey guys C so I never posted the incoming thread from when I got the 44RG but this weekend I decided to bring along my 44RG to meet up with a buddy of mine who also loves the watch. As we're chatting and catching up, he surprised me and said one of his cars was out back and asked if I wanted to take my wife for a spin. It was a LP570 Performante which is basically the Spyder version of the Superleggera. I've had a Gallardo before, but this felt totally different. A few moments later with the top down, my wife and I cruise through town, onto the highway for a bit, and came back. What a great time and it really sold me on the Spyder (I was purely a coupe guy before). Here are a few shots of the combonice watch, nice car, and thanks to a great friend. Hope you all enjoy
HELP: Big triangle 300 - Real/Fake
Yes, the headline says it all. I can see that the seconds hand is changed, but what about the dial? Relumed? Fake?Any help would be nice - thanks!
5711 clasp ambivalence
I'm not up for a patek bashing so please don't think I'm a hater. I love my 5711. But ....I remember feeling the same way as I did when I got my first (pre ceramic) rolex submariner. Effectively slightly disappointed with the clasp. Compared to the new 114060 for example the older 14060 seems to be far less sturdy and perhaps fragile or insubstantial. Yet I do know many like its roots, its no bling form, and - i know its functionality is unquestionable...When I play with my 5711, I'm just left feeling that the clasp is a little awkward to undo... It reminds me of the tool aspect of rolex evolution - which I hadn't expected from a patek - as you never hear them reffered to in that way... I must say - The arrangement on the 40th anniversary AP 15202 just seems more pleasing.Hopefully I'll grow used to it, I have only had it a few weeks...Does anyone feel this way? Or can anyone help me appreciate the patek clasp experience more?Good day all....
18038 Lume coming off.
Hi all, I am more than a little bummed. Some lume has come off the dial on my 1987 18038. The watch has never been serviced so it is long past due. I have spoken to some friends who have Rolex and they have said the RSC in New York is the way to go. I'll call them Monday to see what it all entails. I was hoping for some tips. I was going to take some pictures of the watch befor it is sent. I have added two links to the bracelet. Do I need to remove them? Any suggestions?
