Capeland 10088 is Baume & Mercier’s First Limited Edition for U.S.
Baume & Mercier traces its founding all the way back to 1830 in Geneva, but it has never created a limited-edition watch for the U.S. market until now. The Capeland 10088, limited to 250 pieces and sold exclusively at select Tourneau stores nationwide, will be the first, making its debut this fall. The Capeland 10088 is distinct from other watches in Baume & Mercier’s popular Capeland collection due to its copper-colored dial. It is an automatic flyback chronograph in a 44-mm-diameter case made of polished and satin-finished stainless steel. The dial, which is a covered by an anti-glare sapphire crystal, has a tachymeter scale in blue and a telemeter scale in black. The exhibition caseback, which shows off the La Joux-Perret movement, is also made of sapphire. The watch comes on a black alligator leather strap with a pin buckle. The Capeland collection has quickly become a best-selling collection for Baume & Mercier,” stated Rudy Chavez, president of Baume &
Time Spec: Seiko 7A28 RAF Gen 1 Chronograph
A few months ago, we showed you the manually-wound mechanical chronographs issued by the British military pilots in the 1970s.? Today, we'll take a look at what came next.In the early 1980s, the military forces of the UK went looking for a new pilot chronograph to replace the Valjoux 7733-powered chronographs they had been issuing for the previous decade.? By this time, quartz technology had advanced to a level of quality and affordability that made it the obvious choice for the new watch.? The company selected to manufacture the new watch was the Japanese company Seiko, marking a departure from the Swiss, American, and English brands the Ministry of Defence had previously used. It's no surprise that the MoD decided to look east for their new watch.? Seiko had been producing excellent quartz watches for? years, and the watch they provided was a fantastic example of everything a quartz chronograph could be.? The 7A28-7120, now most often called the Gen 1 (Seiko later supplied a second ge
Your Thoughts on the 1957 reissue of Speedmaster
HiMy current Omega collection includes the Omega Seamaster from the 50s/60s that were bequeathed to me by my parent. The said collection had me thinking about going for a vintage Omega Speedmaster but was too afraid to take the plunge especially with the current price as well as availability of said vintage timepiece. With Baselworld 2017, I am heartened to note that Omega is releasing the Trilogy collection with said timepieces also available individually. And I had my eye on the reissue Speedmaster. May I get your thoughts on the said 1957 reissue? I would certainly like to add it to my reissue collection. Many thanks in advance!
Thoughts on the Panerai 351
Anyone here have a Panerai 351? I am digging the brown dial and gold hands, but I haven't been able to see one in person. Thanks!
Good idea? Bad idea?
So...I currently have a BLNR and a larger type explorer 2 polar and my 40th birthday is fast approaching and as a result I'm going to have the makeweight funds to exchange my existing watches for a BLRO or a smurf in white gold...Alternatively I could keep my Batman and explorer....and have 7500-8000 to spend on another watch, possibly a sub date or a vintage Pepsi thoughts? If I do part ex my existing watches for a WG sub or WG GMT then it will become my daily wearer!!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
