For The Same Money: Daytona, AP ROC, or VC?
I'm developing a goal watch (already landed the grail watch). For the same money, would you rather have a Rolex 116520 Daytona with a 4130 Rolex movement, or an Audemars Piguet 25860 Royal Oak chronograph (39mm) with a Frederic Piguet caliber 1185?For the record, I have owned the Rolex, and it remains one of my top three favorite personally owned watches. Clearly I'm a chronograph nut. I did own an AP Moonphase but the dial wasn't my style. I did love the Royal Oak Genta-ness of the bracelet and case, so odds are I would love the AP ROC too.Between the Daytona and ROC, which one and why? And who would throw in a VC Overseas chrono for a few bucks more and get that one instead? (Unsure if I like the VC or just appreciate that freakin' awesome bracelet integrating part of the Maltese cross logo).Apologies to anyone who is put off by these this-or-that posts. It's a guilty pleasure of mine but I respect that it turns a lot of members off. :) Thanks in advance!
Navitimer 01 - 46mm
I have a number of Breitlings in my collection, from a Colt GMT to the Bentley 6.75, Super Avenger Black Steel, Transocean unitimer in SS and RG, but was never interested in the classic Navitimer. About a month ago I was reading an article on-line, which listed the Navitimer as one of the classic, all time watches. So today I stopped by my AD's to check out the Navitimer and see what I have been missing. I fell in love with this one, Navitimer 01, 46mm, blue dial on a blue croc strap..... just had to bring her home.003 by [url=https://.flickr/photos/150333170N07/]008 by [url=https://.flickr/photos/150333170N07/]011 by [url=https://.flickr/photos/150333170N07/]012 by [url=https://.flickr/photos/150333170N07/]024 by [url=https://.flickr/photos/150333170N07/]025 by [url=https://.flickr/photos/150333170N07/]026 by [url=https://.flickr/photos/150333170N07/]044 by [url=https://.flickr/photos/150333170N07/]
Is Chrono24 A Safe Site To Buy Breitling?
I am looking to buy a second hand breitling. It is my first significant watch purchase, well.. Ever. After hesitating to buy a Daytona VS Navitimer I decided to go with Navitimer. I found some that look good on Chrono 24, but wanted to ask, how do you protect yourself? How do you know these watches are not fake? Best ways to protect yourselves?
Good non-Speedy Pro Speedy?
Got an itch to give the Speedmaster another try. I didn't bond the last time I got the 3570.50. Plus my BIL just got the Speedy Pro, so don't want to be wearing the same watch every time we have a family get together. So what would be your favorite Speedmaster variant? I do love the Snoopy models, but definitely more than I want to spend, I'd like to keep my outlay around what the Speedy Pro goes for.
Patek or Rolex
Hi all, just wanted some input as i just purchased my first real watch earlier this year a Tudor Heritage Chrono, and now i am looking to make the next jump to another very real watch. My budget would be 7.5k-10k i am open to new or vintage. Any ideas on what would age well to either wear or put away for a rainy day?Cheers
