What You Want To Know About Watch Luminant
Have you ever thought about what causes your watch to glow in the dark? This subject has a very colorful and dubious history. It started early in the 20th century, around 1910, when some companies began to use radium on watch dials and hands to create a glow in the dark" effect. Radium is an almost pure white alkaline radioactive earth metal, and is found in nature in uranium ores. It was discovered by Marie and Pierre Curie in 1898. What Marie Curie discovered was that a test tube of radium emitted a fairy-like glow, and she kept a vial next to her bedside as a kind of night light. She further discovered that the glow wasn't coming from the radium itself, but from the ionization of the materials surrounding the radium, which when ionized, emit light (glows). The watch companies added materials to the?radium paint which caused the materials to glow, thus lighting up the numbers and hands in the dark.To the wearer, what a conversation piece their watch became: outside at night or in a
Finally own an AP!!!
After searching high and low and trying out as many AP as i can, i finally pulled the trigger on an AP ROO RGRC. DavidSW is the man! He answered my many questions and work with me to get one of my grail watch. I have a small 6.2 wrist so many AP models i could not wear. But after trying the RGRC, i don't care anymore because it's such a badass watch! Here it is guys...a shot on my small wrist...not bad at all
1st AP. I have to agree that its a piece of art. Thanks David!
Not much to say since yall already know about this one. The only thing I wanna say that AP is truly a piece of art from the finish to the style and movement. IMO, its way much better than any rolexes in the same range. And first I thought 15300 will thick for my wrist, but im totally wrong, its very comfortable and right weight for everyday watch or even as a dress watch, may be I get used to my Pam 233 tho, but I dont like thin or too thick watch. And I mostly wear the black outfits, so I go with black dial watches all the time. I need to size it and take off the plastic before enjoy it tho. Thanks for looking and happy to share it with yall.
Next submariner?
Curious to what you guys think will change with the next gen sub? Predictions as to when and what!!!!
