Because of the frenzied pace of the show, most Baselworld visitors don't get to see much of the city. That's a pity because there is a lot more to it than the show.?My first visit was more than 35 years ago. For those of you attending the fair, here are some things to know about what's beyond the watch halls.1. Tennis legend Roger Federer was born and raised in Basel. But it is not big. The total population was 172,000 in 2013.3. Don't be confused by the different spellings of the city's name. Depending on the language, they are all correct: Basel (American Englis

Bring a Loupe: Some Quick Thoughts On The Collectibilty of (Special) F.P. Journe Watches, As Demonst
F.P. Journe is one of the few modern watch manufactures that many serious collectors have any love for. Their watches are thoughtful, beautiful, wearable, and rare. Don't believe me, read this. That said, Journe watches have never exactly been auction house darlings – with modern pieces typically selling for a fraction of their current retail prices. That, of course, is no way to measure the success of a watch, but resale value is something that many collectors simply can't ignore – if you put money into something, you want to know you can get money out of it. This week, however, a few F.P. Journe pieces sold at auction well above what one might expect, and we are beginning to see that like special pieces from Lange, special Journe watches can also do quite well on the public market. Nesbit's Service
I had Nesbit's service my Omega Seamaster 120m Chronometer and they did a fine job. Watch came back looking and running great. I was wondering if someone could explain the results and statistics test they included. This is the first time seeing results and was hoping someone could explain it to me. I attached a photo of the result.
Vintage Bracelet - Gen or Fake
I'm looking to buy a bracelet on eBay. With the watch itself I can take the back off to see for myself if the watch is genuine but with a bracelet, I can't tell fake from gen. Is my best bet to take the bracelet to an AD and if I do what is the consensus as to whether these guys can tell a fake bracelet from a genuine bracelet?Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
