In-Depth: Twelve Of The Greatest Missing Watches, Including Paul Newman's Paul Newman, John Lenn
The intersection of politics and popular culture with wristwatches is undeniably fascinating. I mean, that's basically why I have a job. Equally fascinating is the pursuit of these timepieces at the center of this interesection by watch collectors, dealers, and auction houses. There are a handful of documented important wrist and pocket watches out there that the world at large is still looking for. What I mean by that is they have not been publicly sold or located, like say Eric Clapton's platinum 2499, Gandhi's Zenith pocket watch, or Steve McQueen's 5512 Submariner (we won't get into his seemingly never ending supply of Monacos), though we know they exist via a blurry old 35mm photograph, or word of mouth. This is a short list of twelve watches that we know to exist, have serious interest in, but have seemingly gone missing. Diver Back from service! great experience
Got my Diver back from Clearwater yesterday. It was running fast so I decided to send it in. They were very courteous and the watch came back in about 3 weeks, pretty quick turnaround! I also had them refinish the watch and it looks like new. Not a scratch or mark anywhere!
Any followers of the Seamaster 300M Quartz?
Hi Guys,Never owned an Omega myself, but I'm thinking of buying one for my Father for his birthday. I much prefer the idea of getting hold of a pre-owned quartz model simply because Omega don't produce these anymore. Reason behind getting quartz is, my father has a couple other watches that he likes to swap between so having a quartz he could just put on and not have to worry about setting the time, unlike the automatic which I think has around 48hr power reserve. I personally would like the auto, but I'm just thinking he's not the kind of guy that can be bothered with setting the time and it'd probably end up sitting in the watch box unworn. He's of old age now, so the least amount of hassle for him the better. I want it to be his favourite watch, as his others aren't very fancy etc.Question is how do you guys rate the 300M Quartz, I tried on the current auto model yesterday and got to say it was absolutely lovely....so how does the quartz compare? I'm trying to find one privately and

312 vs 233 Service cost
Hi,I've never owned a Panerai but I'm contemplating about purchasing the Panerai 312 vs 233. I've read many of the threads about both of these beautiful pieces and the pro's and con's about both of them. However, I couldn't find information about the cost of servicing them. Like Rolexes and Omega's, does Panerai recommend getting these watches serviced every 5 years?
