Christopher Ward C1000 Typhoon Review
Christopher Ward continues to develop and surprise. In the last few years we have seen several higher end watches for the brand, all of which challenge our notions of what can be done in the affordable/accessible spectrum. Up to this point, the watches we've seen have all been focused on interesting mechanical complications, specifically a jump hour, mono pusher chronograph and dual 24-hr time. For their most recent delve into the higher end, however, they focused on materials rather than mechanics. The C Ward C1000 Typhoon Chronograph marks the brands first attempt at a ceramic watch. Constructed of black ceramic over a titanium sub-frame, the C1000 promises to be seven times harder than steel for great scratch resistance, light and, in their own words, "virtually indestructible". While I didn't test that claim, it is bold and certainly makes for a tempting timepiece. Apart from the material, the watch also features a slightly modified Valjoux 7750 automatic chronograph, sapphire crysta
Autodromo Watches Hands-On
For some of you, particularly the gearheads in the crowd, Autodromo is a young brand that stirs up a lot of excitement.??A self-described "driving-oriented design brand," Autodromo recently burst on to the watch scene with a line of 60's Italian sports car inspired timepieces,?carried out with an acute eye to detail and clear appreciation for superior craftsmanship.??Each of the Autodromo timepieces are designed from the ground up, with no stock parts from the strap to the case to the dial. ?We recently had the good fortune to meet up with Bradley Price, Autodromo's founder, and talk to him about his passion for watches and of course, cars.??Oh, and he was kind enough to lend worn&wound his complete line of watches, the results of which can be seen below via an extensive photo gallery and epic video overview.Based in New York City, Bradley Price is a man with a vision, and the wherewithal to bring that vision to life.??One day, inspired while driving in his Alfa Romeo, the concept
Minimum Wrist Size for AP ROO
Hi guys, just a quick question:Do those of you who have slightly smaller wrists (mine are 7 at best) find the AP ROOs a tad large or top heavy? Just wondering as I'm considering a plunge into the world of AP (and I place the blame squarely on you guys and this awesome forum ).Thanks.
Rolex GMT-Master II 116710 BLNR
Hi Everyone. I am looking to purchase my first Rolex, and the one that caught my eye right off the bat was the GMT Master II 116710 BLNR. Unfortunately, that is also a very popular model, and I have heard some crazy wait times. Some promise to have it delivered by the end of the year, others are saying the wait list is 1-2 years, and a lot of retailers in Toronto wont even bother taking a deposit due to the excessive wait time's. As a new Rolex Buyer, I had a few questions for you guys:1) What are your thoughts on this watch?2) Are wait time's like these common? (I live in Toronto)3) If I put the deposit down now, am I locked in for the current asking price of $10,200 CAD, or is it possible that if Rolex increases the price, I will be paying the new updated priceThanks for your help!
Will 16220 Bezel Fit 116234?
Was hoping someone could help me answer this question. I have an 116234 with black concentric dial, Arabic markers, and white gold fluted bezel. The bezel is a little too blingy for my taste and I'd like to tone the watch down a little. I like the old engine turned bezel on the 16220. Does anyone know if this will fit an 116234? I've found a picture of a 16620 which looks the same as my watch, albeit, I guess the difference being the 116234 has the polished case. I think it looks pretty nice. Anyway, any assistance is appreciated.
