Features of Oris Big Crown X1 Calculator Watch
While the case and remote access are quite nice, I think that having a resistance to water of only 30 meters for the case is too little. However, the Crystal is Sapphire and the dial is coated with SuperLumiNova luminous. Being is not a limited edition Oris watch, X - 1 Crown Big calculator will be part of the standard collection for some time and corresponds to a black calf strap. Because the watch uses a basic movement and a design which is only a fundamental review of the things we saw before, I expect a huge price for this timepiece.
Non-Rolex Watch Trade Question
Seeking the advice of knowledgeable WIS, and thought I might get more brand neutral advice by asking this here as opposed to a Breitling or Omega forum. There are two watches that I intend to get in the near future: a Rolex Explorer II or GMTIIc (not sure which of the two, as I love both and see pros and cons to both) and the new PO GMT (because I like POs and find the 43.5 mm watch is the best size available, and looks great with the darker bezel). On the other hand, since I'll be getting a Rolex 4-hander, a GMT PO may be overkill. Which takes me to today: I am selling a mint 1-year old Breitling Chronomat 44, with full set and warranty, to fund these watch purchases.I am offered a straight trade for a LNIB, never-worn Omega Planet Ocean 42 mm. I am seeking your advice as to the values of the watches in that trade. MSRP on the Breitling (with in-house B01 movement) is $8960. To my knowledge, it's difficult to get a warrantied/full set in-house Breitling for much less than 25% discount.
First Omega...
Always have had Rolex. Figured I'd try out a new Omega Beater for a change...Hope the pic comes through, of not I apologize. I'm new to this!
Should I add a 5196J (sorry i made a mistake in the reference in my previous post)
Hi all, as you may have seen from a previous discussion, I currently have the 3738G, 5164, 5146G slate, 5172. Last month, i was about to do a trade to upgrade to a 5960P. But after some hesitations, i didnt do the trade. My wife thinks the 5960P grey is quite flashy and I finally preferred keeping my existing ones then to trade in 2 of them for the 5960. The black 5960P is not something i like. Deep down, I have always fancied the 5196J. When I had only 1 Patek a long while ago, i was contemplating to get the 5196J but decided to buy the others because the 5196 seems to be a common Calatrava not worth spending the money on. But over the years, whenever I see one, it makes my heart race. Does it make sense to add the Calatrava to my existing collection? What do you think of this model? I am not considering any other brands (VC, Lange, Breguet, Blancpain, etc) nor any other models in the Patek collection. Thank you all for any inputs you may have.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What to check after watch comes back from service
I recently got a pre-owned day-date (thanks to freefly and others for authenticating it) and based on my research in this forum, I decided to send it to Philip Ridley for service. My intent was to make sure watch has all the authentic parts and if there is any internal issue, I get to know about it. So far, everything went well and I'm expecting to receive my watch soon.Since, I'm new in Rolex world, I wonder what to look for when I receive it. I understand, I should check:1) Overall cosmetic condition2) Tally time- I'm planning to sync watch and my iphone and then check both of their times after 24 hours. Is there any better way to do this? Also, what else I need to look for when I receive it back? Thanks for your help.
