Richard Mille Partners with Natalie Portman and Free the Children Charity
Richard Mille has added to its already impressive roster of celebrity “friends of the brand” �� a lineup that includes tennis ace Rafael Nadal, golfer Bubba Watson and racecar driver Felipe Masa �� by welcoming award-winning actress Natalie Portman into the fold at an exclusive dinner at New York City’s St. Regis Hotel.The actress �� who won the Oscar and Golden Globe, among other awards, for her lead role in 2010’s Black Swan, wore a conflict-free diamond-set version of the first Richard Mille ladies’ model, the RM 007 Automatic. Yup, I did it...........got a diver back in the fold after having one and letting it go. I guess I just missed it too much.I'm on the hunt for the Survivor Hornback strap to dress up the look a bit. Does anyone have idea on the exact part number from AP? I'm looking for the regular length one.If anyone has any idea where I can track one down at a reasonable price I would greatly appreciate a heads up as well.TIA
New Planet Ocean-mesh love
With the much appreciated help of Fr John, I recently purchased a new Planet Ocean model 2200.51.00 from his recommended dealer. The transaction was flawless, a great watch purchasing experience.To give you some history, I was originally considering several versions of this model including the newest 45.5mm ceramic. I went to my local AD and tried on the 45.5 but it was just too big and thick, and I have a big wrist 7-3/4. I also wasn't crazy about the grey ceramic bezel. So I decided on the 45mm (thinner) model with the 8500 movement. I wanted to be sure I got the D version so I decided to buy new and move fast as they are disappearing since being recently discontinued. I wasn't sure which band I wanted, so along with the steel bracelet, I ordered the mesh and the black rubber strap with orange stitching (I'll address the rubber strap later in a different post).
