Watches NEWS
Eterna KonTiki Date 2009 Watch
While there have been a few new releases from Eterna this year, the company has been relatively quiet. I did happen to notice this fine new release based on their re-issue of the classic KonTiki model. There have actually been a great deal of KonTiki watches over the years, but the versions with the four triangles are the purest in form. The recently re-released the KonTiki had a centralized date dial with an indicator hand, this new model has an internal date disc with a covertly placed date window between 4 and 5 o'clock. I must admit that it does improve the look of the watch as the date window is functional, but not obtrusive. It further allows for greater appreciation of the dial and basic theme of the watch. The watch was designed as a sport watch back in the 1950s (I believe). Funny how what was informal then, almost looks formal now. Though the black and orange faced version is still quite sporty looking and certainly has the best personality of the two in my opinion. Really
Lume on AP ROO
Hi all,i just recently picked up my first AP ROO Chronograph (REF. #26470ST.OO.A101CR.01). First of all its fantastic. From the box to the booklet and of course the watch it all surpasses the rolex watches i own. The details and finish on the watch are really amazing. Wish i would have made the step earlier to AP and allready looking towards getting another AP. I got one question though. The lume on my rolex watches is far better then the lume on this watch. Yes it glows, but fade out really quick compared to Rolex. Is this normal on all AP's i wonder? Thanks.....
Long awaited Incoming!
After 5 years of dreaming about picking up a 15300 after first trying one on at Harrods in London, I've finally been able to muster the funds to pick up a Royal Oak.I was initially dismayed that the 15300 was discontinued in 2012, however having tried on the 15400 I was pleasantly surprised that it fit my flat 6.5 inch wrists well :)So here it is!
PO 8500 w/MESH
I know some don't like it, but I changed it up and went with the mesh. I bought the watch this past weekend and ordered the mesh the next day. When I got home (to about 4 inches of snow) it was waiting for me.So I threw it on.I ordered it from Otto Frei. It may not be as hefty as the mesh that comes standard on the PO or on the Ploprof, but I like the look. Its a touch tighter than the one I had on the 42mm. I may need the extension for the one notch.Rob
