How Will Apple Watch Teach People To Love Watches?
The Apple Watch represents a totally new frontier for Apple, whose corporate personality evolves as they enter the "wearable" space when the Apple Watch goes on sale April 24, 2015. The company's first smartwatch (which they choose to not refer to as a smartwatch, just like they didn't call the iPhone a smartphone) is also one of the most unique and difficult to explain products that they have ever produced. It further represents a noteworthy irony, because Apple itself was a crucial factor in the diminishment of consumers wearing watches to begin with. Now, Apple wants people to rediscover not only wearing things on their wrists, but the value of the timepiece itself. So how exactly did Apple train people to forget their watches in the first place? In 2007, when Apple first released the iPhone, the proliferation of mobile phones to mainstream consumers was about a decade old. Sure, mobile phones had been around since the 1980s, but it wasn't until the late 1990s that owning a mobile ph
Eleven James Review: A Luxury Watch Subscription Service Reviewed
A new company called Eleven James is offering a subscription-based service that allows you to "rent" luxury watches just like Netflix. Members elect to receive either three or six watches per year for a period of two months at a time, from a choice of curated Collections (ranging from $10,000 average retail value and upwards). The program allows each Member - ranging from new enthusiasts to established connoisseurs - to experience an array of watches before their next purchase, to revitalize their existing collection, and to enjoy a level of variety on a consistent basis that would be difficult to replicate personally. Seriously, "Fractional Ownership" of a watch? Effectively yes, for as little as $249 per month delivered straight to your door. watches-dealer has tested the service and offers our opinion.Eleven James CEO Randy Brandoff came up with this idea long before he left NetJets as its Chief Marketing Officer. Eight years ago, he thought about "luxury collaborative consumption"
Watches and people who don't understand
I'd post this under general Rolex discussion but I feel that the Audemars section people are more my family than them, so I thought I'd get your opinion on it.Recently I've taken to Tumblr as other forms of social media kind of bore me. Anyways I wrote a post, if you guys have a minute I'd love some feedback and opinion on what happened to a friend of mine at a party regarding the watch on his wrist. Have you experienced any negative discussions or attacks based on what's on your wrist?tmblr.co/ZwzV5yPxpDLCThanks! Sent from my iPad 3 using Tapatalk
Speedmaster pro water resistance question
Hey guys. I have been trying to figure out if you can wash a speedmaster pro in the sink reguarly with soap and water. I am going to purchase a Tudor Pelagos tomorrow over the speedy but the main reason was that I work in the hospital and give my watch a quick wash after the shift to disinfect. There seems to be conflicting advice on the internet..some say its ok and some say its a nono because no screw down crown. If i puchased a new speedmaster how often do I need to get the seals checked? Thanks for any sage advice.Edit: also, is it harmful to the watch to keep the chrono stopped on the day of the month.
