Leaving Rolex for Breitling
I'm trading a submariner for a brand new superocean steelfish plus some cash (to take care of a bill). Anyways can anyone let me know how the accuracy is on a breitling? I know they are cosc, and the one I'm getting is a caliber 17. Is this an eta movement? Or an in-house movement. I've only owned Rolex, so I'm naive to breitling. Thanks for any help with this.
Brown Strap for my Blue AT
Sitting at the airport, waiting on my flight. Figured might was well show off the latest strap change. To say I like this combo is a vast understatement.
Which to choose: 5970j or 5070p
I can afford only one watch after getting rid of my 5960r and 5980r. For my offer, 5970j is only 14k more expensive than 5070p. Both watches are in like new condition. I read a lot on the internet regarding these 2 models. 5970j, being the rarest as many mentioned, doesn't indeed reflect the price any higher than g, r or p. And the main reason I love about 5970 is its grand complication plus a huge disappointment on 5270.5070p price is almost doubled to its predecessors j, g and r. Still a legendary model. Both watches can be easily obtained in the grey market, at least for now. They are not that rare imo. In terms of beauty, I must admit that I love them both equally. However, if you can only get to choose one, which would be your final choice and why. I still have 5712r left. Thx in advance for the comments.
Is An All Gold Watch Worth the Price?
I've only done some very minor calculations, but it seems that an all gold watch, let's say a Submariner, is much more expensive than a SS version, and at the same time, the value of the gold itself does not seem to match the higher price. For example, msrp for a SS Sub Date is 8,550. But a gold Sub Date is like 26k. I don't think there is 17k worth of gold in that watch, is there? Maybe 8-10k at most. Is the gold just harder to work with? What else might account for the price difference?
DD40 day/date change at different time..
Just find it a little weird that my day and date sometime change over at 12.20a something change over at 12.40a... is this normal? I thought since this is a mechanical watch, shouldn't the date/day change at the same time everyday? Feeling confused.Should I be worried?Thx! Cheers! Jen
