New Independent Watchmaker Fair in Geneva
From January 17-22, concurrent with SIHH, 29 independent watch brands and craftsmen will display their latest collections at the first Geneva Time Exhibition (GTE). The GTE is an effort by smaller, independent watch brands to pool their resources to battle the global economic crisis and to present their products together in an atmosphere designed for firms that are not members of the major groups. The first edition of GTE runs from Sunday, January 17 (opening 2 p.m.) through Friday, January 22. GTE will be held in the heart of Geneva at the International Geneva Conference Center (CICG), close to Place des Nations. The 29 exhibitors’ stands will cover approximately 8000 square feet. The 29 independent brands taking part in GTE are listed below.* Some watchmakers have selected GTE to officially launch their brand on the market and present their first timepieces to a specialist audience. You may click the graphic below to visit the GTE website, which is presented in French.* Scheduled
My two Breitlings
1966 Navitimer 806 Venus 178 mvt. 1989 Chronomat Valjoux 7750. I absolutely love 'em!!!
I did it again!
Just added this to complement my 5167a. They are very different and not redundant (mike!)First impressions: Bracelet is very comfortable - the links are smaller than Rolex, so its contours better. The second hand changes colors, from red to blue to steel. The dial changes hue at every angle. Heavier than the 5167a and bracelet makes it feel more solid.
Has Rolex boxed itself into a corner with Ceramic Bezels?
Ceramic is a fine material and looks like perfection on a Black Bezel white face Daytona. That said does every Rolex need to bring the bling? I like bling but not for every occasion. Also the charm of vintage Rolexes was the way they aged. A 2018 Rolex will look the same 50 years from now. Has Rolex boxed itself into a corner with this level of precision?
GMT 2 Question
Not being familiar with GMT's as I am with the DJ's, I am curious if Rolex made a 16713 with a champagne serti dial .... Diamond and ruby markers. I do believe such a dial was available on a solid gold model, but I'm not sure about the two tones. Thanks, Robbie
