Is The Govberg 'OnTime' iPhone App The Start Of Something All Watch Collectors Need?
Govberg Jewelers, a company that owns several watch stores, iW magazine, a pre-owned watch business, a watch repair facility, and more has just released a new iPhone app called OnTime (previously My Watch Box). The new app builds upon the functionality of their existing apps that help you sell unwanted watches to them and also adds something new which, in my opinion, should be something that all watch collectors need. The Govberg My Watch Box (not going to change all the instances of "My Watch Box" but the name of the app just changed to Govberg OnTime, so please be aware of that) app features some useful tools that, while not unique, are well done. The app includes a watch news aggregator (similar to what Watchville is doing), a "watch box," a place to browse new and used watch inventory for sale, as well as a tool for helping you to sell pre-owned watches to Govberg. In another Forbes article (here), I discussed the booming market for companies interested in buying your watches versus
AP boutique charges $200 to ship to APSC
So my watch (<1 year old, still under warranty) was losing about 25 seconds per day, and it was driving me nuts. I stopped by the AP boutique in Beverly Hills, CA to have it sent in for adjustment. The sales associate informed me there was a $200 shipping charge (round trip) to have it overnight Fedex'd to Clearwater, FL. I'm trying to figure out if that's a normal charge? Given the watch is under warranty, I would have thought the $200 shipping charge is something AP would absorb. Thoughts?
Navitimer "joining the Breitling ranks soon"
I just put a Navitimer World on layaway. I intend to pick it up soon. The 46mm diameter dial is larger than anything else I currently have. Thats part of the reason I like it. The whole look of the dial with the slide rule function and red GMT hand is why I fell so hard for it.Ah the wait begins, the sweet feeling of anticipation........................
Should I get the 114060 from AD or grey?
Hi experts, need your help here. So here's the thing, grey prices are almost similar to ADs or pricier. 114060 from an AD would cost 10,000 SGD here and a 2013 model from grey market would cost around 9300+ SGD. I was thinking if you add the servicing cost after, it would likely cost the same. I've heard a lot about people saying don't be the first guy to absorb the initial cost from buying new. But does it still apply now? Which option will net me the best deal? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
