Dodane is a very cool watch brand. They don't exactly have the biggest collection of pieces - banking it all on a single product with a few variations, but a nice product it is. Their fine offering is the Type 21 watch, a historical looking aviation timepieces with a healthy relevance for today's pilot or watch enthusiast. Nothing in the watch sacrifice's its core mission - to be a highly legible timepieces, with a flyback chronograph, and to function as a measuring tool in the event an aircraft's instrumentation dies.Dodane's website does a very good job explaining not only the history of the watch, but also all of its functions and available variations - all with lots of pictures. While not perfect, the site is surprisingly useful - for a watch brand website that is. Based in France, Dodane watches are very rare in the US. Montblanc Grand Tourbillon Heures Mysterieuses Is Like A Watch In A Tuxedo
In Villeret Montblanc is feeling very proud of itself. It has gone from making pens, to being a preeminent watch maker. The recent acquisition of popular family owned (previously) Minerva gained Montblanc that ability to tout in-house movements. So now their watches look nice and have lots of bragging rights. While I enjoy some Montblanc watch designs more than others, I can't argue that any of their recent releases are anything less than elegant and well conceived.In celebration of Minerva turning 150 years old, we have the Montblanc Grand Tourbillon Heures Mysterieuses (that is the most uncomfortable way of writing mysterious if English is your native tongue!). Inside is an in-house Minerva movement (of course) caliber MBM65.60 with a manual-wind 1 minute tourbillon (the tourbillon functions as the seconds counter and makes a full revolution each minute), 26 jewels beating at 18,000 bph, and with a power reserve of 50 hours. Greetings TRF,After waiting and thinking about it for a little while I've decided to make another review of a Patek Philippe watch, I hope you will find this one interesting as I am about to talk about a piece that I consider to be one of the all-time classics from the brand: the Patek Philippe 5146.The case: With a 39mm diameter it is a tad on the bigger size side, a lot would agree that it is perfect since larger watches are very popular nowadays and it allows the owner to put this timepiece on his wrist to fit every attire and for a lot of occasions. Having tried similar cases myself and despite being a smaller watches enthusiast I can only agree with those people, the watch seems to have a lot of presence on the wrist but remains very elegant with its lugs smoothly coming out of the case, there isn't a single rough cut on this watch and that is what makes it a versatile and timeless piece.The dial: Rather unique when compared to both watches with similar or different complications,
