Royal Oak - Regular Cleaning Regiment?
Sorry - Regimen.OK. Dumb question. Not as dumb as What is the average discount I should received on a stainless steel Rolex or Is it safe to wear my expensive watch in _____ City, Country etc...Now we know (after numerous comments from Padi) that the best way to clean a Rolex SS sports watch is with a soft toothbrush and gentle soap / warm water. No Veraet / fancy watch cleaners required.Same for a Royal Oaks? 15300 / 15400 / 15202?Reason I ask is I know the fine brushed surfaces can scratch if you look at them funny. Would a garden-variety toothbrush mar the fine brushed surface of a RO?What do folks to do in terms of regular cleaning? Thanks
Purple?
When I saw that new purple worldtimer I wasn't really my thing, but it might just work for the 5711...
Advice Needed Please...
Evening All,Alright in a bit of a dilemma here.. in the past have owned AP 39mm Dual Time White Dial.. trade for DD2 Rose Gold Chocolate Dial (with briboxer excellent guy) and then had to sell that back to Brian to fund engagement ring and partial deposit on the house about 6months ago. Now I find myself wanting to get a new timepiece.. Now I currently have a Breitling B01 LTD Edition Sky Blue 367/500 that I'm looking to trade... but the question is to what? One option is to add roughly $5k and goto Rolex GMT BLNR.. great watch.. love the color.. look and feel... and could realistically be my last watch (before I head off cruise ships and onto life on land). The second option is to add around $10k + Breitling to get a 16808 Rolex Submariner.. yellow gold blue dial (I'm a sucker for blue dials)... its PM which I love.. true gold vs rose gold and a steal at the price offered. The third option is the stretch option which is to add roughly 20k and get the 5711 Blue Dial. This is my grail wat
Considering first Panerai... Need some help
I'm considering my first Panerai and need some input from knowledgable owners. I'm very scared of the larger case sizes. I have a smaller frame at 5'7 and a 7 wrist. I've tried the 44mm and it swallows my wrist. I like the 42mm models but they seem to be harder to find. My attire M-F is business suit and want something that blends well with my work attire. Any suggestions on a 40mm or 42mm model? Any pics of Panerai with business suits? Thanks,
My Rolex Submariner stop ticketing
I bought my Sub 2 years and 8 months ago. Recently, I realised the power reserve of my Sub seems to drop after putting it on a winder (I wear it only once a week). Yesterday, after winding for about 40 rounds and wearing it in the morning, it stops ticking at about 3 pm. I wind it again after this happened but the ticking continues to stop at short intervals after which I finally gave up and concluded that it needs to be sent to a service centre for check and repair.I did not expect my Sub to fail me as I have an Omega Speedmaster which I purchased 5 years ago which has never failed me for a single day as long as I am wearing it (I wear it 3 to 4 days a week).1. Is the problem due to the reason I did not service my Sub after the 2 years warranty period? When must I service my Rolex?2.Is this a common problem to Rolex watches or just an isolated case which happen to my Sub? I am starting to lose my confidence in a watch brand which has a history of robust and reliability and certainty i
