Visiting The Flagship Bremont Watch Boutique In London
Living in the UK and speaking to watch-lovers and people connected to the watch industry, conversations inevitably veer towards the phenomenon that is Bremont. Of note, of course, is the seemingly meteoric rise of the brand out of nowhere, and now, in its twelfth year in 2013, it has five main collections, a number of sold-out limited editions, and legions of fans among celebrities and watch-lovers alike.Just take a look at their website if you are unfamiliar with the brand, and allow the sleek and clean presentation seduce you into wanting to own one of their watches. I know this, because every single one of the people I have spoken to about Bremont in the UK, references that one experience when a shift occurred that told them that this brand was pretty cool. It's no wonder that I consider founders Nick and Giles English of Bremont as ace marketers at the highest level. It takes a high level of understanding of the motivations of the watch-buying public to build a brand that causes peo

Patek for a noob
Considering buying a used Patek as a daily wearer and my 1st Patek, for a bit north of $20,000. Work in an office on weekdays and typically wear business casual on weekends (shorts in summer). Can't stand Patek sport watches (Nautilis, Aquanat, etc.) Prefer yellow/pink/rose gold to white gold/platinum. Going against the Patek aesthetic, I like watches that attract attention, so a larger size would probably be best .Saw a 5170J with silver dial in person and loved it vs. the few other (smaller) Pateks on display but at 45-50K used, it's way out of my price range. A 5205R-001 would probably also fit the bill but again too expensive. Considering stretching to a 5146. (I've never seen any of the latter two watches in person.)Any recommendations?
5196 on 7.5 wrist
New to the PP forum. The 5196 has been on my radar for a long time but am curious how owners (if any) feel about its size, especially those who have larger wrists. Too small? or just right under the shirt?thanks for your help!
New to TRF - Planning first Rolex Purchase - GMT II LN - thoughts appreciated!
Hi All -Delighted to have joined the forum, I'm in the US and am planning out my first Rolex purchase - It will be for daily wear and I've fallen in love with the GMT Master II LN. I am currently in the process of sourcing one pre-owned. My watch dealer (who I trust explicitly and have purchased a number of non-Rolex watches) has a nice example with box and papers, its a G serial (2010) but the papers were stamped end-2012. It has not had a service. He is offering it at a fair price but has also told me that if I wait and another watch comes in post-2015 with the 5yr international warranty he would sell it to me for the same price. So my questions are:1. I'm assuming nothing has changed between 2010-present with this watch? 2. I'm in no rush, should I wait for a newer example to come up or just go for this one? The 5y Warranty is a consideration but more importantly if I decide to trade it because it doesn't agree with me as a daily wear watch, would I be better served value-wise with
