Vacheron Constantin To Host Children's Workshop In Its New York City Boutique
Some?big news for little watchmakers: it has been announced that Vacheron Constantin, the world's oldest continuously operating watchmaking brand, will be sharing their wisdom with the next generation of horological heroes. On Saturday, April 25th, 2015, Vacheron Constantin will be holding a children's workshop at their New York boutique as part of Madison Avenue Watch Week. Young visitors will be encouraged to tap into 260 years of experience, have their questions answered and maybe even have their hearts set on the path towards a career in the industry.Vacheron Constantin opened their first mono-brand US boutique in New York City in September, 2011The hands-on workshop will be led by an instructor from the North American Institute of Swiss Watchmaking and children will have the opportunity to learn?the basics of?how a mechanical watch works and even get the chance to make and take home their own clock! From a personal perspective, this is very exciting news. As a watchmaker aware of t
About to move to ROO and need some advice....
Hi there everyone. I am new to the world of AP, however I am about to buy a ROO.... I went into the boutique in Harrods yesterday and was trying on the steel with black face and black crocodile strap which was my first choice when the chap in there mentioned that is easier to damage it then the rubber version. As there are owners of both on here I wanted to get some feedback about damaging them and whether the steel does mark easily and is the rubber version is the better option to be worn a lot... Any advice would be great.ThanksAB
Underneath the ohm symbol...
Greetings TRF,Here we have a beautiful 1976 (or thereabout) Omega Seamaster with the reference number ST 366.0848, something that was passed down to me by one of my mentors in Gotham. This thread is dedicated to him. If you flip this watch, you will find its bracelet and clasp......As well as its caseback with the classic Seamaster logo. Now once you pop it......Well...let's not even try to describe it. Rather, allow me to show it to you...Omega's caliber 1020, an automatic movement with day and date indicators! The hairspring...I always need to take a picture of it. Boy am I glad this one's shock protection device has an incabloc spring, it's much easier to work on those...It's more difficult to take pictures of an automatic watch's movement because of the rotor but I still managed to find a few good things to shoot. The logo on the rotor is very subtle, just a very fine little detail that makes it look nice! ...And some other pictures! Thank you for watching, feel free to comment!
The Official Nautilus 5712 Appreciation Thread
Hi everyone, Seeing that with the 5980 and the 5711 this is the Nautilus which gets, IMO, the most love here I thought it needed it's own thread, so all of you who own one don't hesitate to post pics and say what you love about this piece.I love the comfort, so comfy that I even sleep with mine, strange I know but sleep much better with a watch on my wrist The thinness and weight are also great, took me a few days to get used to it as I was coming from bigger heavier watches, my smalest at the time beeing Daytona 116515.Just love the perfect finition, the beautiful grey-blue dialthe moon phase, I know useless but love to have one. Here are a few pics of mine, please show us your's P1000424.JPGP1000400.JPGP1000392.JPG
