Hands-On: The Piaget Emperador Coussin XL 700P (Live Pics, Pricing, And A Bit More On Quartz/Mech Hy
There are always a few major surprises at any major watch show, and the Salon this year had a big one. That was the presentation by Piaget of the Emperador Coussin XL 700P, a hybrid quartz-mechanical watch, which we first presented to you as part of our pre-SIHH coverage last December, and which was created, says Piaget, in celebration of its first in-house quartz movement from 1976. Having seen it, at last, “in the metal” at the Salon, we think we can address the questions many of you have, including how it works, and for those of you who are interested in quartz/mechanical hybrids, the question, “is it a Spring Drive?” The answer is both yes – and no. 1 OF 9 The good folks at Piaget must be mighty tired of hearing the words “Spring Drive” by now, although questions about parallel technology are fair. New shoes for my CE Diver
Just received the orange rubber strap from APSC. Love this combo!
Not really an incoming since it's already on my wrist
I purchased a very lightly used PAM352 from Ben at Arnold Jeweler's. It's one of my favorite PAMs for the 1950's case, tobacco dial, and gold hands. The 312/328 felt really heavy after wearing it all day but I haven't had any issues wearing the 352 with the strap.
Bracelet swapping
Hi guys,Currently have my Everest strap on my BLNR with the OEM Rolex clasp.Just wanted to ask for those of you who have alternative straps, how often do you change them out and does it cause wear on the spring bars to frequently compress them to change out bracelets? Also due to using the OEM clasp, it involves removing the screws from the clasp to place the oyster bracelet back on. Would this cause damage to the screws or threads from constantly using loctite each time I replace it?Sorry for the long winded post, but just curious. Thank you for any guidance given!!!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
