Introducing The Timex Originals Dive Watch: A Vintage Diver Without The Vintage Price
Remember when we took you into the vault at Timex to show you their new Originals collection? Well at Basel, we got a sneak peek at the latest addition to the popular vintage-inspired collection - a dive watch. It looks every bit the part of a vintage diver, and is even sized appropriately for the time-period at 38mm.? It comes in a few different colors and on a few different straps, but the best part about this great looking new watch from Timex is the price - $85.You can't get much these days for $85, but you can get a nice looking knock-around watch that resembles some of the classics.? Judging from the huge response to J.Crew's Timex watch and then the other Originals pieces, this is going to be sure-fire winner.Look for these watches soon. Shock resistance of seamaster 300 master co axial
Anyone know the tolerances of the shock resistance? Dropped my new LE Spectre seamaster 300 about 3 or 4 feet onto carpet. Was not a hard hit, but saw it lost time after. The watch has been a little unpredictable - was loosing about a second a say when I got it, put on a winder started gaining about a second + or so a day. Then after one night, gained like 7 seconds in 12 hours. I then Let it run down and rest it and it was running +/- .02 seconds, then lost about .6 seconds in 5 1/2 hours after drop. This has th new Si14 balance spring. Any thoughts/experiences?
Datejust on Leather?
Hey guys,What are your feelings on a Datejust with leather strap? To be honest, at one point I never used to care much for leather straps, but in recent years I’ve really grown to love them.. even prefer them in many cases to a metal bracelet. I have a TT Datejust with an ivory white dial and jubilee bracelet. It looks gorgeous as it is, but I just have a feeling that it might look great on a nice brown leather strap.. even if it’s just for a temporary or occasional change. I was just wondering what others might think of this idea, and even better still, possibly some inspirational pictures? Russ
Bold Basel World Prediction
I'm not advocating for this, simply predicting....With the new Date-Just 41 being (as I understand it) 39.5mm, I could absolutely see Rolex discontinuing the classic Date-Just 36. I feel like the the DJ41 splits the difference betwen the DJ2 and the classic DJ36.I think 39.5 is a perfect modern size. Seems like 34 to 36mm is squarely in the too big for (most) women and too small for (most) men camp. Although the DJ is a classic, they did move the Explorer from 36 to 39.Thoughts?
Preference? SS, 2 Tone, or solid PM?
My evolution on watch preference has gone from 2 tone, to solid PM to SS.Any strong feelings?
