Introducing: The Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater, The World's Thinnest (In Current Produc
Records in watchmaking are increasingly elusive, and generally transient. However, pursuing them has given rise to some very interesting watchmaking. Breaking a record may be hard, and holding it is even harder, but for now, it looks like Bvlgari has managed to do both, with the launch at Baselworld 2016 of its Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater. 1 OF 5 Ultra-thin wristwatch movements are rare; complicated ultra-thin wristwatch movements are even more rare, since the challenges in ultra-thin watchmaking tend to rise exponentially as the watch becomes more complicated. For that reason, the most complex watches are made in ultra-thin variants by only a few companies, and as a rule, they're those firms with a very long technical history in such watchmaking – Vacheron Constantin, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Audemars Piguet, Piaget. Bvlgari came late to the ultra-thin game but they're playing it like they mean it, with such watches as the Octo Finissimo Tourbillon (see our int
15300 vs 15450 - both OR
my recent obsession is either of these in OR, on strap, black dial.they are 2mm apart in diameter, but i do like the same-color date wheel on the 450.any owners of either (or both!) so that i can see comparison?would like to see how small the 37mm of the 450 wears relative to the 39mm of the 300.i like the size of my jumbo...so my head tells me the 300 would be preferred (aside from my preference of the same-color date wheel of the 450).however, i have a 36mm day-date in YG on bracelet...and that does feel nice, doesn't feel too small at all.
I'm Having a Tough Time Deciding...
First post here on Rolex Forums so I am sorry if it is not in the right place. I am having a tough time deciding on which watch to get. My choices are...ROO PandaROO BumblebeeROO SafariAny feedback or suggestions would be helpful. Thank you.
Proper way to clean watch?
Hey I will be getting a Seamaster PO this fall, and I happen to be rather OCD about germs and such so i was wondering what is the best way to disinfect the watch after getting it sweaty without damaging the finish. I am concerned that soap and water will result in soap scum build up. Is there a particular soap that rinses cleanly?what about Lysol? or rubbing alcohol? or vodka? I realize I am probably over thinking this but i have a few months to save and its killing me! Thanks!
ADs in Stuttgart
Was in Stuttgart over the Easter weekend, visited the 4 Rolex AD's as they are all a few minutes from each other.None of them have waiting lists and all watches are displayed in the window and get brought like that.Strangest experience for me was the 1st AD I went into, bearing in my mind my wife had her Lady DateJust28 with diamonds & I had my Hulk on, the sales person wouldn't even let me just walk around the shop after I asked about SS models in general! She pretty much said there's nothing else here that you'll be interested in and all our Rolexs are in the window , while blocking our path to the rest of the store .SS wise, the default SS selection of Air King, Explorer watches alongside the PM range.
