Introducing: The F.P. Journe Limited Edition Steel Set, Celebrating The End Of 38 MM With Something Very Special (Details, Live Pics, Pricing)
For a brand that has only been around for a little over 16 years, F.P. Journe has developed a sizable following among serious watch collectors. As such, every subtle variation, nuance, and change is noted with great interest. Today’s announcement celebrates one such change – and in a very dramatic way. When the brand started selling watches back in 1999, F.P. Journe watches were only available in 38 mm cases. A few years later the 40 mm size was introduced and the majority of watches to follow were available in both case sizes. The 38 mm was the traditional choice of purists, but things change. From now on, watches in the Journe collection will only be available in 40 or 42 mm cases (with the exception of the Chronometre Bleu, which is still 39 mm). 1 OF 12 To commemorate the end of 38 mm watches, F.P. Journe has unveiled a box set of five watches, and here’s the awesome part – they in 38 mm stainless steel cases with bronze-colored dials! Discoun
RO Bracelet: Does the hair pulling stop?
I tried on an RO for the first time today and was strongly considering this piece for purchase. Absolutely stunning watch that pictures don't do justice to. But the bracelet pulled my arm hair badly. The boutique resized it for me twice to try and it still pulled noticeably even after we got the sizing right. I had red marks on my arm from where the bracelet tried unsuccessfully to tweeze my arm hair after wearing it for a only a few minutes. Does this ever improve? I'd be especially curious to hear from some of my fellow hairy guys. At this point I feel like I have to take it off my list unless there's a) a secret to getting it to stop pulling b) the hair pulling improves dramatically over time. I trim my arm hair every 3-4 months and it's at its shortest point right now; I can only imagine the pulling would be worse when I'm later in my hair growth cycle. Appreciate any thoughts, advice, etc. Thanks!
15703 out, 15710 in.
After a few years of ownership of the 15703, and long deliberation, I made the change. A bit goofy financially, but I'm loving the display back and the (less interesting but arguably cleaner looking) matte dial.
Show me some Lume shots!

Polished my Bluesy with Cape Cod tonight
This stuff is awesome! It took out the entire years worth of wear, micro scratches, and general dullness of the gold and stainless in about 1 hour of work including masking the brushed sections. I wasn't entirely happy with the rush job polish Beckertime did on the watch when I got it. Lots of directional scratches in the polish on the sides of the bracelet links and some on the case. All of those are gone and it looks better than when I got it. I used a dry silver polish cloth on the top of the bezel to polish the gold though to avoid wetting the bezel insert with mineral spirits. Also avoided polishing the brushed sides of the bezel. I re brushed those last year after finding some spots had been hit during the original lazy polish job. This Cape Cod polish is interesting. It appears to be an abrasive cloth with a mineral spirit base. I don't think there's any compound left exactly after polish. Just residual petroleum distillates to remove with soap and water after a final
