Tourneau Plugs Omega De Ville On TV: Next Watch Commercial Sighting
As predicted previously during my discussion of the Seiko Coutura watch commercial, it was predicted that more watch commercials would appear in this new wave of watch advertising. There is nothing inherently interesting about a product being advertised on television, but in the case of watches, it is a form of advertising rare of unheard of in the United States. It is a sign that watches are becoming marketed more, meaning higher availability, and more selection for watch lovers. The newest commercial viewing focused on the new Omega DeVille, but did not mention the model by name, just "Omega." And then the phrase "hour vision" which alludes to the fact that the watch case has sapphire crystal sides for viewing of the movement. Much of the commercial's imagery in fact focused on the watch's mechanical movement; indicating a return to the ideal of the mechanical watch. The 80's and 90's were not golden eras for mechanical watches in the US, but since the late 90's there has been a resur
5712 as your only watch?
I've had several threads about the 5712 and 5164. I think I'm leaning towards the 5712, but to get it now would mean I'd like pair down my collection to just the 5712 at the moment. So...Does it make sense to have the 5712 as your only watch? Currently I have a BLNR and SS Daytona, and while the 5712 is not a PM watch...it does look more dressy to me than my Rolexes. I know it will look great with a suit and when I'm dressed for work...but what about when I'm casual?? Is it a watch that goes with anything? It could just be more history with Rolex but I've been very pleased with how versatile they are...and the PP 5712 just looks more formal to me - hence my concern.Anyone just have a 5712 and/or use it as their daily go-to?Thoughts?
5196G enabling needed...
Been thinking of upgrading my 15400 to a 15202, and finally put it on the chopping block. But yesterday I started thinking that a 5196G would be a great alternative to the 15202, I know, they are different watches for different purposes, but still.I have been consolidating lately and have only a few watches (you can see in my signature what I have), I am missing a dress watch as you can see.So, I have time to decide while the 15400 sells, but I have always found the hunt to be a big part of the fun.Any comments and especially pics would be greatly appreciated.
Panerai Crown Unwound Suddenly?
Hi gurus of this forum.Would like to seek your kind advice. Was winding my Pam000 as usual today. Was midway winding it (not nearing the end), when suddenly the crown started to unwound itself and spun freely anti-clockwise. Tried winding it back again to the end, everything acted normally as it should. What is the hell is going on? I shook the watch but couldn't hear any loose parts i.e. just in case something broke.Any kind souls can advise me? Thanks in advance.
Had a text message from AD saying current list needs registration in person
I was already on the list and was put on in person at the store But today received this text hopefully it will stop people getting on the list without even stepping foot in storeMessage is below Good Morning, this is the Rolex Manager at Goldsmiths . I am contacting you as you have shown interest in potential new Basel release models. I would like to inform you that as of today, in order for you to confirm any interest you must now be entered on a registration system which can only be updated by you being in store and sitting with one of our Rolex team. I understand that some of you have shown interest some time ago however this is now going to be a practice carried out throughout the Aurum Group. So to confirm any list you are currently on will not be honoured until you have registered in person in store.Regards
