Brand Highlight: Bernhardt Watch
Having teeth that allow for fast, large bites of prey is vital to a shark's life and survival. Fred B. Amos of Bernhardt Watch Company knows a little about survival in the depths of a crowded watch market C and he might know a little about shark's teeth. The Bernhardt Sea Shark, the company's best seller, features a signature "Shark Tooth" design wherein the shape of the hour markers give the dial of the watch the appearance of a shark's mouth agape. Is it opening? Closing? Either way, if I were the three or the nine C I'd want a bigger boat.Bernhardt HistoryBernhardt Watch Company came into existence in 2005 and today boasts five models that perform well in the marketplace. There is a distinct appeal to owning a Bernhardt that a simple Google search can reveal. But to better understand that appeal, it's important to know a little about company founder Fred Amos and his stomping grounds C High Point, North Carolina. The city earned its name in the 1850s because it was the highest point on
Vintage Chronomat ref. 0818 W/Venus 178
Just back from a complete overhaul including a new factory acrylic Crystal. Very much enjoying this Big Case (48mm) vintage circa 1969 Breitling Chronomat three register chronograph. Waiting for a custom leather strap from Peter at Gunny Straps...rockin a comfortable matching Nato for now.
Non-Rolex Watch Trade Question
Seeking the advice of knowledgeable WIS, and thought I might get more brand neutral advice by asking this here as opposed to a Breitling or Omega forum. There are two watches that I intend to get in the near future: a Rolex Explorer II or GMTIIc (not sure which of the two, as I love both and see pros and cons to both) and the new PO GMT (because I like POs and find the 43.5 mm watch is the best size available, and looks great with the darker bezel). On the other hand, since I'll be getting a Rolex 4-hander, a GMT PO may be overkill. Which takes me to today: I am selling a mint 1-year old Breitling Chronomat 44, with full set and warranty, to fund these watch purchases.I am offered a straight trade for a LNIB, never-worn Omega Planet Ocean 42 mm. I am seeking your advice as to the values of the watches in that trade. MSRP on the Breitling (with in-house B01 movement) is $8960. To my knowledge, it's difficult to get a warrantied/full set in-house Breitling for much less than 25% discount.
Panerai AD discounts UK
Hi allJust wondered if anyone had purchased from a UK AD recently and if they'd managed to negotiate any kind of discount?Only reason I ask is been thinking of getting a Radiomir 388.UK list is ?6,300.Seen a couple on line (2014 & 2015) in decent condition for around the ?4,450 - ?4,600 mark.Would prefer to buy new, but nearly 2kdifference is a big pill toSwallow.Realistically, any thoughts on a realistic AD discount (if any) on this watch? Thanks in advance...Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
