Introducing The Hamilton Khaki X-Wind Limited Edition, Complete With Drift Angle Calculator
It was a Hamilton watch used on the first US postal service flight between Washington and New York, so aviation is nothing new to the brand. The new Hamilton Khaki X-Wind Limited Edition includes two main features that can be especially helpful in flight: a chronograph function, of course, and something a bit more esoteric: a drift angle calculator. Sure, it's not a complication you're going to need on a daily basis (unless you're a pilot, of course), but it's certainly an interesting addition nonetheless.?The Khaki X-Wind is part of Hamilton's larger collection of pilot's watches. At first glance, the watch has a particularly industrial look due to the multi-level dial with two-tone brushed metal detailing. Each of the three chronograph registers features stylized metal overlays complemented by detailing around the day and date aperture at 9 o'clock. This doesn't make for the best legibility, but it does give the watch a distinctive style. 2 OF 4 What really sets the X-W
Speedy on Alligator
Just got an OEM Omega gator strap for the 18mm deployment. Makes a nice change from the stainless. Very comfortable too.photo1.JPG
Just landed...
I haven't posted in awhile but just made my first vintage purchase ever (thanks to Achova). It's not a Rolex but I am already quite please with the new buy. It's a late 1960s Omega Pre-Moon Speedmaster with the cal. 861 movement. It's in great shape and I took it off the bracelet to put on a horween strap (originally purchased for my sub-c, though they didn't go well together). I have to admit that I now have the vintage bug and will probably only purchase those now. Hello Red Sub...I've included my Sub-C here so that there's some Rolex content.
Influx of Taupe
Have been seeing a lot of Taupe straps around latelyDoes anyone know where to source one like the one in this pic and do you think this colour will work on a 5235G
Patek Aquanaut 5167 as everyday wearer...
...I am thinking of maybe letting a few watches go +adding cash and buying a pre-loved Patek Aquanaut 5167 to compliment my SubC and only have these two watches +some Aqualands beatertype watches for REALLY tough work as building on the house etc...I know the 5167 is advertised as a 'Sportswatch' Patek but is it really a 'Sportswatch' or just a more glorified sporty dresswatch in reality? Do you guys swim, go to the beach etc with it or do you pamper it as a more a dresswatch?I do not pamper ANY of my watches and they go with me everywhere, shower, swimming, work etc...Can the Aquanaut take it?...
