Technical Perspective: Stopping The Whirlwind: Four Tourbillons With Stop Seconds, And Why That Matters
One of the single most important features of watches intended to keep very accurate time is the presence of a stop seconds function. The single most important purpose of the tourbillon – as Breguet originally conceived it, certainly – is to make a watch more accurate. You would think therefore, in a rational universe, that you would see the tourbillon and a stop seconds function paired frequently, if not invariably . . . but you'd be wrong.First of all, let's talk tourbillon. The basic idea behind the tourbillon is pretty simple: it's a solution to a really old problem in watchmaking, which is that a watch will run very slightly faster, or slower, depending on what position it's in. This is mostly due to how gravity pulls on the balance and balance spring in different positions. A good daily AP.
Looking to dip my foot in these waters again. I'm going to be honest, it's a problem (being honest) of mine, I just don't want to wear a Rolex. I'm really enjoying my Omega watches, but I do want something a little bolder. My Yaeger is a keeper, but with no date, it's got something missing. I don't need a date, but I do want one. My concern is the size. I typically stay at 42 or under. Balance is an issue too. I'm thinking standard diver or ceramic with orange. Any guidance or thoughts/ideas would he appreciated.
Today went to AD
Today went to Ginotti and tried the diver, and the 15400,this 15400 is outstanding,i put my name on the list for the first white one that comes in,10 % is this a good deal?
This is driving me crazy, can't get bracelet off my SMP 300
well, I have tried to get the bracelet off my SMP 300 for the last 2 hours... can't seem to get it off..from this video Omega Speedmaster Professional Moon Watch - Strap change (nato): Silent - YouTubeit seems the bracelet just pop off once one side of the spring is pushed...without much effort..whereas for mine, even though i pushed on side of the spring bar all the way in, it didn't come on.. it's kinda stuck on the lugs...i tried to wiggle it off.. but couldn'tplease take a look at the pic, hopefully it explains what should i do? Am i doing something wrong? Thanks in advance !
New item for Baselworld please
Since the Oysterflex is only available in black for a few.Instead of predicting new watches, I like to see Oysterflex to be available in more colours and available for all models across the board.
