Editors' Picks From The Upcoming Phillips Auctions: 'Start-Stop-Reset: 88 Epic Stainless Ste
You may have already read Ben Clymer's thoughts on the upcoming (May 14th) Phillips "Start-Stop-Reset" auction, which is populated with an almost improbably rich collection of 88 of some of the rarest, most interesting, and most desirable vintage stainless-steel chronographs out there (the offering's so spectacular it's a little unsettling). Phillips has another auction the day after, as well: "The Geneva Watch Auction: Three." The latter isn't themed but that doesn't mean it isn't also full of some really interesting and unusual timepieces, so we sat down here at HODINKEE to do a little window shopping and see which ones from each auction we'd pick if we had the kind of war chest we dream of having. Here's what caught our eye. Start-Stop-Reset: 88 Epic Stainless Steel Chronographs (May 14th, Geneva) Cara Barrett: Lot 17 C Patek Philippe Reference 1463 In Stainless Steel, Ca. 1945 1 OF 17 From the "Start-Stop-Reset" stainless-steel chronograph sale, I have c
General Thoughts on AP Accuracy
Hi all,What is everyone's general experience with AP's accuracy, specifically the 3120 movement in the AP 15400 and Divers?
Opinions on the Montbrilliant Moon phase line please
Hi, I was looking at the Montbrilliant lineup with Moonphase that was discontinued in 2010. Any idea how good/reliable the movement it uses is (think is Breitling 19) since have seen some complaining about it being expensive to service. I read it uses a modified ETA movement so that means is not an inhouse Breitling mechanical movement right? I thought Brietling had started manufacturing their own movements in early 2000 through a Swiss factory they setup. Also saw a place mentioning the watch having water resistant problems although is marked as 30m water resistant, could anyone throw some light on that?Lastly any wrist shots would be much appreciated,Thanks

Incoming 5124J - dedicated to TRF
Hi all,I am very fortunate to be able to add my second (own a 5167) and a classic Patek to my humble collection. I went for the Gondolo 5124J and could not be more pleased with it. Firstly a big thank you to Patrick (OCROLEXGUY) who made this happen with a flawless deal. Secondly this incoming is dedicated to this great forum. It is fitting I got the watch from a trusted seller. Without your knowledge and help my collection would not be possible. This watch represents what TRF is all about, a love for fine timepieces. This watch is sublime in every way. The curved case, curved sapphire, curved fitted well finished movement. It just hugs the wrist and the dial is very Art Deco. Lastly please no congratulations, I would like to congratulate all of you for your unparalleled passion. Some quick pics enclosed. CheersAnujSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
