Edox Classe Royale Revisited: Watch With Many Faces: Looks Good In Each
I fondly mentioned the Edox Classe Royale line of watches before, but since then have garnered new appreciation for the line. Though I retain my previous positive sentiments regarding the impressive symmetry of the watch. The design has a distinct appeal that transcends among many different watch lovers. It is hard to dispute with the eye catching and eye pleasing looks of the Edox Classe Royale. Several years ago, Edox reinvented itself after a stint as a relatively obscure maker of quartz dress watches. The family owned company then decided to recapture its mechanical roots and produce a unique line of classy sport watches.Edox is on a roll, and trying to market its watches aggressively as they should. Still, it is hard to penetrate lots of direct sales channels, such as retail. So you will probably not find Edox watches at your local department store. Fret not as Edox watches in all flavors can be attained with relative ease over the Internet.Expanding on my discussion of the Edox
Jumbo 1-1/2 Link Thoughts
Still trying to figure out the bracelet on this one. I acquired a 1-1/2 link a while back and have been replacing it on and off with two regular links when the weather heats up or cools down. Would love to find a good happy medium where I don't have to visit the boutique every 4 months! Here are my thoughts, which I'm hoping some of you Jumbo wearers can comment on. The 1-1/2 link isn't really 1-1/2 of a regular link at all...it's more like 1-1/3 of a regular link (8mm versus 6mm). My thought is to have TWO of the 1-1/2 links put in place of THREE regular links. My math works out to a net loss of 2mm using this set-up...which in my mind is not a combination that you can achieve easily with only 1-1/2 link in the bracelet. I'd have to spring for another half link, but it may solve the problem.I know I'm over-thinking this but the bracelet is driving me nuts without a micro-adjustment. I'd hate to have to give up the watch simply becasue of frustration with sizing the bracelet.
Christmas has come early !
I felt I must post this thread even though I have no photos of it yet. My 2011 Speedmaster cal 9300 ( 2 sub-dial version on Allogator strap) the watch that I have had on order from My AD since August, came in yesterday. Although it's been available for a month or so now at Boutiques I have had no luck getting mine until I contacted Omega customer services who stepped in and sorted for me. Excellant service and a very helpful lady. It is an amazing speedy and definately the most comfortable Omega I own to date. I will post photos as soon as I can. This is the Omega photo of it
Giddy anticipation - getting an AquaTerra clearback today from AD
Will post usual photos as soon as it arrives. It's a watch to be used for working, because I'm afraid to use my Rolex.
New today
I've been agonizing over upsizing. The choices were a 372 or a 449 because I like their historic references and clean looks. I started with 40mm and worked my way up to 44's and 45's. Maybe when I've worn this awhile I'll want to go up again? Funny how the blue is so light sensitive.
