Montblanc TimeWriter 1 Metamorphosis Watch Transforms
There was a lot of excitement at Montblanc in Geneva for this watch. They only had one of them?at SIHH and it was in a case. Still a prototype but I got to check it out a bit. In a nutshell, you press down on a lever on the left side of the case and the watch dial magically transforms into something else. Not only does the look change, but more importantly the functions do as well. One face shows the time (regulator style with?retrograde minutes) and the date, while the second style is a chronograph. In the included video you can wait through most of it or skip ahead near the end when they discuss and show some rather funtastic special effects of the TimeWriter 1 Metamorphosis watch. You not only get a good idea of how it works, but of how complex it is. They put all this effort into the video and it isn't even in English - the bastards. The TimeWriter watches will be a growing collection from Montblanc magical workshop in Villeret. The plan is to give the young and eager watch makers t
Trading 15300BA for an 5167A
I am interested if you would you trade 15300BA (2012, serviced 2015) for an Aquanaut 5167A from 2006. No additional payment (mistake in the poll above)
First Time watch / Omega buyer - Advice
Just bought my first real watch and my first Omega! I admittedly own a couple of Movados and guess watches - but recently started studying and really enjoying horology. So I picked up the Aqua Terra 38.5mm black dial. I wanted a versatile watch that I can wear with pretty much anything while I save up for a sport. I did have a couple of concerns I wanted to run past the forum to ensure I made a good choice. 1. It is the discontinued 231.10.39.21.01.001 model. I believe this does not have the antimagnetic movement. Possibly some other compromises as compared to the 002, but non I could find that would concern me. I know Omega currently sells model 231.10.39.21.01.002.2. I purchased it from grey market dealer. For my first watch, I don't want it to be a bad experience and I usually like the latest and greatest of whatever it is I invest in. The watch is awesome and the grey market price was ridiculously good. Do you think the points above are too much of a compromise. I love the watch, h
Would you trade a PAM 243 for a Planet Ocean C Chrono?
On the ropes on this one - Of course I understand this is an Omega sympathetic blog....Thoughts? -
Change of tide in supply?
In one of my local ADs windows yesterday, the following;Steel LN GMT IIBoth Polar and Black Explorer IIsTWO! Milgauss GVsBoth Black and Blue Bimetal SubsBimetal GMT (the black one,Not the new one )Bimetal black DaytonaI have not seen this selection all at once in a Yorkshire AD in a very long time. Not seen a steel GMT in an ADs window in over two years!Note these are all brand new and the AD in question doesn't put 'spoken for' watches in the window.Things have got that bad up 'ere' that even bimetal Subs and GMTs were a rare sight,is this a fluke or a sign that things are improving?Did not make a difference to me as it will be a few years before I consider whether I want another Rolex.Guess that is the result of buying my grail, two years in with my 18ct sub and honeymoon still isn't over
