Rising Moonphases by Frederique Constant and Christopher Ward
I'm a firm believer in the idea that you can't effectively judge anything on numbers alone. Looking only at the statistics of a watch completely ignores the finish, the quality, the experience of a great timepiece that forms the base of this hobby. Two new announcements in recent days help make that point brilliantly. Within the past few days, both Christopher Ward and Frederique Constant have announced plans for a new in-house moonphase movement. Beyond that, both of the upcoming watches are sized at 40mm (with the Frederique Constant just a hair larger at 40.5), both feature sapphire crystals, display backs, and automatic winding. By the numbers, then, the two should be nearly identical, but there are huge differences in C. Ward's and Frederique Constant's approach.First, let's take a look at the Frederique Constant Classics Moonphase Manufacture. Picked up my first AP - FC Diver
Well, I'm super excited to have picked up my first Audemars Piguet...a FC Diver. I had originally looked for a 15300 with the white dial but missed out one and have had trouble finding one. While looking though, I started learning about the Diver's and I fell in love.My only other watch that I have a is a Rolex Submariner with the ceramic bezel and I've worn it as a daily. It has collected its fair share of scratches but I love the watch in that I don't have to worry about it since its built like a tank.I went with the forged carbon with the ceramic bezel since I prefer to wear my watches wherever I go and as a daily, so I went with this one over the SS.Here are some pics (I'm not a photographer so apologies). And a shot with its older brother from another mother.
Ploprof 600 pressure test
Well,I changed the seals in my Ploprof myself, some of you might remember?I had it pressure tested earlier to 90m, but I felt I could do better.... So today it passed what the dial says... 600m! I guess it's safe to take it diving!
Panerai Bezel easily scratched?
I picked up a PAM392 about 2 weeks ago. After 2 weeks of wear, I noticed that the bezel is getting scratched up pretty good. Nothing deep, just a lot of light scratches, noticeable enough for me to be annoyed/worried. My questions:Is this common? Anything I should do to fix/avoid?
