Watches NEWS
La Ligne Bleue by Jaquet Droz
Jaquet Droz announces a series of five timepieces, each produced in a limited edition of eight pieces. These unique watches share beautiful dials created using the Grand Feu enameling technique to obtain a color of unique depth and luminosity: Jaquet Droz blue. Whereas ivory or black enamel needs 10 to 15 firings, blue requires no fewer than 20. Before each one, the dial surface is dusted with a layer of powder no more than a millimeter thick. This superposition of layers give the blue its special radiance and distinctive hue. Though each dial requires significant time and skill to create, less than one dial in ten passes inspection and goes on to adorn one of the five models of La Ligne Bleue: the Grande Seconde, the Grande Seconde Medium, the Grande Date, the Quantime Perptuel and L'Origine Email.Suggested retail prices:Grande Seconde: $22,000.00Grande Seconde Medium: $22,000.00Grande Date: $25,00.00Quantieme Perpetuel: $53,000.00L'Oringine: $10,000.00
AP serial numbers
Upon doing a search for this topic, the best I could find was a thread from TRF that is some years old... it seems that I serial APs got to the market around 2012, is this still the current production serial? Is there a logic to AP serial numbers, even if only aproximate?
New Speedy 57
My AD called me today to come see what had arrived. I didn't realize this was a color combo that was released for the 9300 version of the '57. I had only seen the white/blue and black combos. I have to say that this color version is stunning. They also put it on the polished/brushed Aqua Terra bracelet which makes me want to get the same bracelet for my Speedy 9300. The price tag on the new '57 is $9,200. Which, in short--is insane.Wears MUCH bigger than the 41.5 size.Overall...I think it is beautiful. Full exhibition back too--no steel.
Daytona in Maui!

How hard is it to get a steel Daytona?
I see it going for over MSRP on some sites, but then I see that happen with the Sub, and I've walked into stores that have it without issue. What gives? Is it regional? National? If I wanted one, but don't want to pay in excess of the $12,400 MSRP, is that realistic?
