New RGM North Pointer Professional GMT 254 Watch
RGM makes watches in Lancaster County,? Pennsylvania, which is a hub of American watch making. In fact, the majority of hands-on watch making that occurs in America today is in, or near Pennsylvania. A fact that strikes me as curious given the remote nature of some of these towns, but makes sense if you compare it to fine German and Swiss watch making towns. You'd be surprised to know that most of the independent watch makers in Germany and Switzerland are based in old farmhouses or alike building in tiny rural areas. take the famous Glashutte region, which is basically a one street village. I don't know why this is, but it must mean that watch makers don't like to be bothered. Thus, you'll find a lot of homegrown American watch making in what is essentially Amish country. Go Figure.RGM is a special watch company in America because they produce one of the first American made watch movements to have been developed in a long time. This movement is not in all of their watches, as they mos
Breaking News: Christie's New York To Hold 'The Omega Speedmaster 50' Thematic Sale This December
It's safe to say the Omega Speedmaster is one of the most universally adored timepieces in all the land. Its combination of timeless design, excellent movement and build quality, plus its superior place in the global cultural narrative, elevate it beyond simply a watch to a downright icon of American, and even world, history. Rolex, Dinner and a Show
Last week I had a wonderful meal at one of the Fortnum and Mason restaurants, 45 Jermyn St, just behind the store. We had the Beef Wellington which was so delicious, the chateaubriand beef was just melt in the mouth and the pastry was excellent. We also had our peppercorn sauce flambed tableside, quite spectacular. We also bought some goodies, including a delicious Bothy Pie, a pork pie with Lincolnshire Poacher cheese and topped with caramelised onions. All highly recommended, esp with a nice cup of Darjeeling or Smoky Earl Grey. My LVc also matched their greenish colours.
Sizing my BLNR
So after playing around with the sizing on my BLNR I’ve found the most comfortable for me is by having 5 links on the 12 o’clock, 4 links on the 6 o’clock, microadjustment in the middle slot, and easylink extended out. Is it ok to have the easylink extended all the time? I would prefer to have the easily link closed so I have to option to extend when my wrist swells up. My guess is a full link is 10mm, easy link is 5mm and each microadjustment slot is 3mm. My preferred fit of 9 links, middle slot in the clasp, and easylink extended is a baseline of 0. My index finger fits under the clasp. If I keep the same amount of links, close the easylink (-5mm) and go to the loosest adjustment on the clasp (+3mm), I would be 2mm smaller than the baseline. This is my second choice, but I’d prefer to have it a tad looser as only my pinky fits under the clasp. If I add an extra link (+10mm), go to the tightest slot (-3mm), and close the extension (-5mm) I would be 2mm larger t
