Bulova Accutron Watch Ad Pitch Opens MAD MEN Season 7
Season 7 (the final season) of the television show MAD MEN debuted tonight with the reading of a pitch for the Accutron wrist watch. It was only a matter of time before the subject of watch advertising came up in the series and there is perhaps no better example than the original Bulova Accutron. As the original electronic tuning fork watch, it offered a unique upgrade over mechanical watches but existed in a pre-quartz movement age. The pitch, as described in a monologue in the opening scene of season 7 episode 1 titled "Time Zones," is perhaps one of the best watch advertisements of all time.It was in the year 1960 that Bulova unveiled the Accutron range of watches to the public. The most famous model was the Spaceview, which was actually an accidental design never intended for sale. ROO chrono as only watch
Hello, I hope you are all doing well. Sorry in advance for the probably long winded post but I am sure you appreciate this as it is my first good watch! My current watch is a Casio...I have been looking for about a year now for a nice, daily watch, with a chronograph, that can withstand daily outdoor life and I absolutely love the ROO chronographs, especially the brown 2014 themes model. I won't be diving or hod carrying, but I do some outdoor activities that may give it some light knocks or water / mud - hunting, shooting, camping, etc.The model I am interested in is steel with a hornback leather strap. What kind of durability can I expect from such a watch? Is is reasonable to use it as a daily watch? I know I should not be comparing it with an Explorer or Submariner as these are true beaters .. but on the other hand, I am not looking to climb Everest or go scuba diving, so I am hoping I will be OK.After visiting an AP boutique in January, they look and feel more substantial than a

SpeedMaster Pro vs SpeedMaster Reduced
So im in the market for a speedmaster. I know many of you don't like the reduced. Here is my thought between the two.I want to wear them either on a nato or on a vintage leather strap.I personally like the reduced size and price as its about $1500 cheaper than the Pro. The only think its lacking imo is the case back with the first watch on the moon. I won't be wearing the watch to often just something to collect as well as to wear once and a while for a change up.Can anyone give me any pros and cons between the two.Thank youBrandon

Planet Ocean GMT 2013 bought! HELL YEAH!
I worked hard and long for the Omega planet ocean Orange Crono but after many days of talks..and frankly the unavailability of the the color choice for my time frame I bought the limited edition or so i was told Planet Ocean GMT instead! I'm so happy with my purchase! here are some pics of this beautiful watch.next perchance is the blue rubber band with white stitching! love the look of that but at 400 bucks with the buckle it may be awhile.
