Vacheron Constantin Creates Unique Dove Watch for Only Watch
This piece embodies the famous Mtiers d'Art cultivated within Vacheron Constantin: engraver, enameler, gemsetter and guillocher worked together to create this unique watch, especially developed for Only Watch 2011. Inspired by the technique of repetitive tiling designs known as tessellation, this Mtiers d'Art C Perspectives d'Art watch invites observers to explore a reality that plays with human perception. This watch combines several of the Manufacture's artistic crafts that vividly express the theme of perspective in order to accentuate the sense of depth, each according to its own technique. The gold, enameled and diamond-set dial adopts concepts such as geometry, symbolism and motion, subtly nesting and layering them in order to generate several levels of meaning and interpretation. This timepiece is inspired by a drawing by Maurits Cornelis Escher C a Dutch engraver and graphic artist (1898-1972) whose work was based on a subtle play on architecture, perspective and space. Introducing: The A. Lange & S?hne Lange 1 In White Gold
In addition to the Lange 1 Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar, A. Lange & Söhne has decided to add a white-gold 38.5 mm version of the Lange 1 to the collection. The Lange 1 is already available in pink gold, yellow gold, and platinum. 1 OF 2 The new Lange 1 was released at SIHH in 2015, and was one of our favorite releases from last year. It was completely rebuilt with two changes to the dial: a thinner bezel and a slightly less pronounced “A” on the dial signature. They also added a new caliber movement, the L.121.1 manual winding movement with a 72-hour power reserve. The watch you see here is still the same with the exception of the white gold and added lume to the hands, which will surely be a big hit. 2 OF 2 Check back here for pricing and more photos, and for more information on A. Apollo xvii 40th silver patch dial speedy
Hi guys I have the chance of getting a brand new one of these.Does anyone have one ?Any thoughts? How rare or collectible might this be? Cheers
Don't need a Patek but I want one ... Which one to get
So I'm 30 years old and I own a speedy pro that I wear on weekends and some evenings. I have a Non date sub that I wear to work ( as a doctor) and to meetings and things. I have a Reverso 976 with a white dial and leather strap as a dress watch. I thought I didn't need another watch but the Patek brand calls to me. I guess I have it engraved in my mind that I must own a patek someday. Its probably due to marketing ( and I'm a sucker for marketing)My query is - if I was to get a patek which one should I get and should I get is sooner or later? I want to have a iconic model. It was easy with the other brands as they all have one iconic piece that they are known for. It's not that easy with Patek. The Calatrava is obviously the easy choice and I love the 5227. I tried one on and it suited me well, but I couldn't think of when I would wear it. The nautilus has been in my mind since I was about 16. I iconic design but I think I have two good sports watches and I guess I don't need another.
Accidental Rolex
This is how it started for me. I was 19 years old and in the U.S.Army stationed in Kassel Germany. The year was 1965. A friend of mine was previously assigned to the 82nd airborne. He had a beautiful watch he used to time his jumps from the aircraft. This watch had all kinds of buttons and knobs and I was really impressed. It was an Omega Sea Master. I owned literally nothing. Even the green uniform I wore belonged to the Army. I wanted one thing I could call my own. I saved my money for a few months. It's hard to save money when your pay is $127.00 a month. I drank about $100.00 a month in that Great German Beer. One Day I got on a train and headed for Frankfort. Arriving at the Post Exchange, I headed for the watch section and asked to see an Omega Sea Master. the sales Lady informed me they were all out of Omegas, but she said We have this. She handed me a watch with no buttons, no knobs, no stop watch, no nothing. However, It was a very nice looking watch. I asked what it, as I had
