Porsche Design Timepiece No. 1 Debuts
The Porsche Design Timepiece No. 1 is the first watch to debut from the new "independent" Porsche Design watch brand. We first spoke about the upcoming Porsche Design Timepiece No. 1 here, when discussing Porsche Design's plans to produce their own watches after breaking up with long-term production partner Eterna. You can see that previous article for more information, but in a nutshell, rather than work with outside partners, Porsche Design will be doing watch production themselves. Apparently, that also means in-house movement production in the future, but we aren't there yet. For now, Porsche Design has released two new timepieces (essentially the same watch with different case finishes, but with two different names) that are the Porsche Design Timepiece No. 1 and the Porsche Design Chronograph Titanium Limited Edition. Nice watches, but the names are a bit bland.Let's further be clear that both watches are limited editions, and that the difference in naming is pretty confusing for
Introducing: The Tudor Heritage Black Bay Bronze, Now With In-House Tudor Manufacture Movement (Details + Official Pricing)
The Black Bay and Pelagos dive watches are two of the most dramatically successful vintage-inspired, and eminently affordable, dive watches anyone is producing today, and while they're not the letter-perfect reboots of original vintage models that some would have preferred, we think Tudor's been smart to keep a lot of the salient details of their vintage dive watches, but avoid rote repetition. The worst-case scenario for vintage-inspired watches in general is when designers add unwanted features that break the spell of immersion in history and heritage, thereby making you feel as if you just have to try too hard to love a watch you really want to love. The newest Black Bay from Tudor is now out, and in some ways it's the most risky one yet: Tudor's delivering it in bronze, which can be a dichotomizing metal to use in what's supposed to be a classically inspired, unpretentious diver's instrument watch. 1 OF 8 This one, however, really looks like it
Hi everyone
HI everyone, I've been contemplating my first AP watch purchase. I own a few rolex watches but I hear AP is on a different level. I'm considering either the blue boutique stainless steel royal oak chronograph or the same watch with the black dial, I thought about maybe just starting out with a regular royal oak steel watch but I really like the chronographs. The rose gold AP's are stunning watches but a little out of my price range for now.Any advice on which steel version wears better for everyday use. I have seen the black but I've never seen the blue boutique in person, can anyone that has had or has these pieces offer their personal opinions/reviews. Do they scratch easily?Do AP owners usually start out with steel and then move up to pink gold?I know rolex hold value pretty well, what about AP?any general reviews on pros/cons would be appreciated. Thanks
Any risk to getting a 5711?
So, I've never seen a 5711 in the metal. I have seen the 5712 and it is elegant and seems like a good size for my wrist. I understand the 5711 is thinner than the 5712.So my question is, if given the opportunity to buy a brand new 5711 from AD at MSRP, is there much risk on my part of losing money if I don't the 5711? For that much money I better love it. I've never reached this price point before. Seems like selling a watch for <10k is easier than a >20k.For the record, I'm not trying to flip here, I would unseal it and size it for my wrist.Appreciate your thoughts.5712 test drive (bracelet not sized).
