OMEGA and Solar ImpulseAt a press conference today in Payerne, Switzerland, Solar Impulse unveiled its second solar-powered airplane, Solar Impulse 2. The Solar Impulse project, launched by Bertrand Piccard and Andr Borschberg, has set itself the goal of circumnavigating the globe in an airplane powered day and night using nothing but solar energy by 2015. OMEGA has an active role as one of Solar Impulse’s Main Partners, providing both capital support and key technology to a venture that will contribute to the scientific and ecological development of alternative means of sustainable energy. OMEGA’s significant contributions will continue to be an integral part in the Solar Impulse Project’s success in the coming years. Solar Impulse 2 has been built to meet the challenge of becoming the first plane to circle the globe using the sun as its only source of energy. The first test flights of this new airplane are scheduled to begin in May in Switzerland. It involves sever
Could Rolex Dispense with Stainless Steel Watches?
How about this possibility? Rolex is trying to eliminate sales of stainless watches that are in competition with their precious metal watches. Using them only as loss leaders to get their consumers to buy the PM watches. No lack in availability of PM pieces afaik. Rolex could choose to focus their manufacturing efforts where they can get the most bang for the buck going after the higher market tier. They don't care if there are people dying to buy their bargain stainless watches. That's not their problem. They could take the attitude that if the consumer wants Rolex watches let them pay for PM. The brand might have enough clout to pull that off.
DD40 - Whats the max wrist size on a stock bracelet without adding links?
Quick question that a many of you may know off the top of your head:What is the max wrist size that a stock DD40 bracelet can handle (comfortably) without having to buy extra links?I'm a 7.5 wrist normally. I tried on a fully linked DD40 last night and the watch was fairly snug. This was at an AD down in the Bahamas, at the end of a long hot day, so my wrist size was swelled bigger than normal. I'm thinking I would be fine with a stock size bracelet but wanted some feedback.I had never considered needing to add links to the president bracelet (thinking they came bigger) as I usually take one link out of a glidelock and on a Daytona I'm fully linked with the clasp micro adjustments on the inner/tightest slot. Thanks
