Longio 1000m Diving Tourbillon Watch
Remember the Chinese watch maker Longio? I talked about them here when discussing their first tourbillon watches. I applauded the Hong Kong based watch maker for having the courage to thrust itself in the tourbillon watch market that is dominated by European watch companies that have the process down pretty well. China's strength is in ingenuity and keeping costs low. The highly sought after tourbillon complication could be had from Longio at a fraction of what the European makers charge. Not that Chinese tourbillon watches are a replacement for the Europeans, but it is was certainly a knock on the door of the stalwart giants. Now comes Longio's second tourbillon watch, the yet to be properly named 1000m Diving Tourbillon. Diver tourbillon watches aren't new, but this combination of 1000m water resistant case, sporty looks, and cost of about $8,000 simply cannot be found in any European watch for double, triple, or even quadruple the cost. Rolex Oyster Perpetual 39 Black dial Basel release
What do you guys think of the black dial OP39 released Basel 2018? It is on the Rolex website.
Am I nuts for considering this? Sub to Exp 2
I currently own a Sub ND and it's an amazing daily wearer that works for any type of occasion. I also have a BLNR that wears very differently from the Sub but my dilemma is that both look very similar. Originally, I never considered the Explorer 2 42mm because I have a ~6.5 wrist and it looked huge when I tried it on. However, the polar version has been growing on me lately and I suspect it has to do with the fact that it has a white dial and looks like the polar opposite of the BLNR. I do want to try it on again but AD's have been short on supply lately.Did anyone go from a Sub to the Explorer 2 and not regret it? Would I be giving up too much just to add a different color to my collection? Curious to see what you guys think.
